TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
I've decided to sell off my analog recording gear and focus on recording ITB w Cubase.
I don't have the patience or ability to record solely to tape, mixdown, etc.
I find using Cubase provides me with a better workflow and provides better options.
I spent much of this morning looking at comparable prices on ebay's completed sales page and these prices reflect the average prices that I saw.
Selling:
FOSTEX SOLD 10/16/18
Fostex A8L/R 8 track reel to reel tape deck..excellent condition. I also have the remote and a rca snake for 8 in/out.
1 erased 1200' tape and 1 brand new RMG 911 blank tape.
I have pics of the heads(best I could get) and overall they look pretty good with a few looking more used than others.
The time I've used this deck it's worked flawlessly and the remote is wonderful to have. VU meters are bright and work great.
This version of the A8 is the L/R which allows for all 8 tracks to record at once. The A8 only does four. This deck runs at one speed 15 1/2IPS, and uses Dolby C(which I really like)
This sucker is heavy so shipping should be expensive depending on location. $400
I also have a Tascam 308B 8 channel mixer which is a monster, but I love it's sound and despite other's claims it's noisy, I find it to be quiet, at least with headphones. All VU meters work, but one needs calibrating as it reads lower than the others.
This is too big and heavy to ship, but would do it if you want to pay for it, other than that it's going to be local pickup. $300
FOCUSRITE SOLD
Focusrite 18i8 Audio Interface(2nd generation)..love the focusrite stuff, the preamps are stellar, quiet and transparent.
I also have the smaller one I use with my other desktop, I love these.
Only reason I'm selling is I'm upgrading to the Focusrite 18i8 audio interface because it has a lot more inputs and I need them to plug all my synths, mic and outboard gear in instead of getting a mixer. $SOL185 D

Good morning Clavster...FloridaClavAnother wrote:I forget where you're located
The only thing I'm not shipping is the Tascam 308B and I listed it yesterday on Reverb for local pickup.

That Pioneer reverb is CLASSY. :thu: Good luck with your sales, sir!
Re: TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
You're right EP.. in fact I might just keep it for studio ambience, kind of like a lava lamp.ElectricPuppy wrote:That Pioneer reverb is CLASSY. :thu: Good luck with your sales, sir!
Thank you for your kind wishes.
Think I'm gonna keep it. :thu:

At first I thought it was a 1/2", but now I see it's 1/4", so not what I'm looking for. Good luck saving for your Moog one though!

Oh man, that's not too far at all! I love that area. I recently went to safety harbor (I think I was there once many years ago when I was a kid but I forgot lol) I really just love north of Tampa, it's all so quiet.
When I slow down here, we should get together!

Audio interface.. how much?
Re: TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
aw shucks, thanks for looking...no Moog ONE. I'd love one but too rich for my studio, besides I'm downsizing not upsizing.ClavAnother wrote:At first I thought it was a 1/2", but now I see it's 1/4", so not what I'm looking for. Good luck saving for your Moog one though!

Re: TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
$185 plus shipping cost to be determined. Love it, I'm just upgrading to the Scarlett 18i20.selfinflikted wrote:Audio interface.. how much?
(I looked at all the completed sales on ebay and this was in between high and low). Also this is 2nd generation which makes it a newer version.
Re: TOPCAT'S STUDIO SELLATHON!!
Yeah it's beautiful up here. We are less than 10 min drive to the Gulf, and even closer to where the Ancloyte River opens up to the Gulf.MetroSonus wrote:Oh man, that's not too far at all! We try to get out to either place every Sunday morning.
We're also just a crabs throw to the Sponge Docks.
Yeah, let's try to get together Chris.. except my wife is still working, and there's a lot of stress going on at her job, so weekends and nights we usually try to unwind and be together.
I'm home all day long during the week, so maybe if you get a day off we can meet up here or where you are. :thu:
