Korg expands the Monotron series with the addition of the Duo and the Delay! Two very cool new additions.. A Monotron with cross mod and one with a built in analog delay!
All of the models feature the audio in jack, but I’m really curious if on the delay, you can run audio through the delay stage as well. If it was after the filter, I don’t see why not though. Korg doesn’t seem to specify either way and it’d be a real shame if you couldn’t. Anyone with more info, please jump in here :)
Classic Analog Synth / Space Delay Combination
A good delay was an essential part of the classic analog synthesizer sound. More often than not, that delay came from a tape-style echo machine until affordable digital delays were created. The monotron DELAY is an analog synthesizer optimized for sound effects. In addition to its analog oscillator, filter, and LFO, it also provides a Space Delay that’s indispensable for swooping, cosmic sounds. The monotron DELAY even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo. This fat and warm delay will add an authentic edge to your analog sounds!

Dual Oscillator / X-Mod Design
Offering two oscillators, the monotron DUO adds an extra dimension, delivering an even more extreme sound. Tune the oscillators in unison for a rich, thick, analog tone. Tune them in intervals for classic soloing sounds and generating new effects. The X-MOD (cross modulation) circuit taken from Korg’s classic Mono/Poly can introduce a mild or razor-sharp edge to the overall sound; everything from a rich vibrato to extreme metallic sounds reminiscent of an FM synth.

Is the Monotribe not for you? Why not hack a more affordable Monotron with CV and Gate and open up the possibilities? dinsync.info shows us how in this post.
Just one more reason I love Korg, this year at MusikMesse they announced their release of a fully analog monosynth with the same filters from the famed Korg MS10/20: The Monotron.
The Monotron is a small battery powered, ribbon controlled, self contained monosynth that features a VCO, VCF and LFO (that can be set to control either the VCO or the filter.) It also features an onboard speaker and audio inputs to run through the filter! How cool is that? Expected retail is about 100$.
Technical Info:
-Full-fledged, true analog synthesizer: VCO, VCF, LFO
-Inspiring, easy-to-play ribbon keyboard
-Intuitive, fun-to-tweak controls
-Features the same classic analog filter found in the legendary Korg MS-10 & MS-20
-Filter any external source using the audio input jack
-LFO can modulate either pitch of filter cutoff
-LFO Rate knob features cool LED visual indicator.
-Battery operation and palmtop size equals true portability
-Internal speaker/headphone jack lets you enjoy the sound anywhere, alone or with friends!
