I've only ever lost money on music... don't regret it of course, as I see it as an investment in my sanity

Thanks man! I guess what they say is true, if you be yourself, people will find a way to you. Even if it's just one guy..lol. :jam: play it loud man.

Dropbox is severely acting up, so all I can listen to is a few seconds every now and then. Otherwise my interwebz seem fine, I can stream from youtube for example...
What I did hear is mighty fine in playing and in the sound :thu: :smoke: :kraftwerk: :jam:

I'm still in the Game. I'm working on a bunch of YouTube content with the CS50. It's time consuming. It is a brilliant machine though!

Great track, topcat, I enjoyed that :thu:

The closest to music I'm getting is that I'm back at practicing my vocal warmups while I'm driving...

I'm sitting here trying to wait patiently for all of you to come back to the light. Playing with instruments is so very good for you.

I recognize that Clav speaks wisdom. Apparently my priorities have shifted. (need a :grimace: emote)

Nice, I'm waking up with coffee right now so on the laptop but have to listen to this again when I wander up to the studio later.

First thought is I do like the electro bassline that jumps out at you.

Sounds like those people at the end liked it too.

Thanks CR, glad to hear you're at least practicing vocals in the car... hey, it's a start, at least you're doing that.
Life sometimes has a way of shifting our priorities and putting other things we enjoy doing on hold.
One thing I've learned over the years is, I have to do music, and god willing I'll continue doing it even if all I've got left is a small Casio and my acoustic.
Thanks again for listening. :thu:

Hey PC, thanks for listening.
A little background on the bass line. When my mom was still living alone in her apartment I'd go down there 3 sometimes 4 times a week to take her food, and enough extra to get her by for a couple of days.
Due to her age and physical limitations her apartment became, uh rather dirty(she was always a clean freak and her place was immaculate). But whenever I brought up the idea of cleaning/vacuuming for her, she always gave me a firm NO!!! and I'd feel like the little boy who had done something wrong, so I didn't fight her on it.
One day I decided to take our vacuum, bucket, sponges and a bottle of Pine Sol cleaning liquid.
I walked in and announced "I'm going to clean up your place for you today", and I was surprised she was receptive.
After a couple of hours of scrubbing/vacuuming, it looked great and I went home. When I left she had a big smile on her face as she looked at her fresh smelling/clean "renewed" apartment.

I was on a natural high all the way home having accomplished the impossible.
After dinner I went into my studio and started playing that bass line. All I could think of at the time is how I did it!!
I did the impossible, thus came the title and subject of the song.
It's about anyone accomplishing a goal, overcoming obstacles and being free, etc.
After I finished the tracks, I felt something was missing. I'd been listening to a lot of ELO and I started playing with the strings, playing a bit of a bouncy fun thing in the background, and so I left it in the song.

The audience cheering at the end are supposed to be cheering for a person who "did it!!"
thanks again
TC

I like the bouncy bassline even better in the studio.

Probably says more about my state of mind while waking up that it went over my head.

A few years back I used to help out the old guy next door, if I was lucky he would fall asleep and I could tidy up and throw out the green bacon in the fridge (not kidding) and shit... otherwise similarly hard work. Trying to change his bedding was the worst. :freak:

Thanks so much for listening and for your comments, I appreciate it greatly.
It's nice we can share our music with one another, while we all have different tastes in music I'm sure, we do share in a mutual love for gear and creating.
So again, thank you. :)

Had to laugh at the green bacon comment, yes, did a lot of search and destroy missions myself.
She still had a clear mind most of the time, and it would become "alive" when I would least expect it. Rick, did you throw out something from my refridge? where's that leftover casserole I had stored in the back? you mean the one that had living organisms thriving all over the top? I had to throw it out, it was bad mom... oh no, best to ask next time, that was still good! lol

I love that you did that for your elderly neighbor..
shows you're not only a cool musician, but have a big heart as well.
May your kindness be returned to you many times over. :)
