If I had that many knobs and buttons... I'd probably pretend I'm a 50s phone operator

I did once debate trying to set up my keyboards in a circle like a TARDIS consule with a big lava lamp in the middle lol then decided it would not be very practical.

Otherwise, never even thought about it.

I think star wars had the right idea. tell me this doesn't look like a killer gig.

I can't find a photo of it, but in return of the jedi, as Luke is being led into the imperial base on endor, I think (i havent' seen the movie in years) there's TARDIS like consoles under the walkway, rather than the guy in the middle configuration. Or they might be on the new deathstar before he gets to palpatine.

The one movie that I know of that actually uses a big modular synthesizer as a prop is Phantom of the Paradise.

Killer gig indeed, but I've not ever been the sort to pretend like I'm playing the "phantom" of that movie though.

Still, BLINKENLIGHTS are pretty.

do we have any toy collectors in here? When I was looking for the console images, I ran into a forum that does custom dioramas with mostly vintage toys. I would have loved to have made stuff like this! I'm just not that good with my hands nor that creative.

I like how the behringer self oscillating filter is the kick, and the white noise is the snare at the same time. Then we have the 2600 on hihats.

Is the reverb the spring on the ARP clone? Something about onboad springs that'sa bit special, in a good way.

Yes it is. It's really cool because sometimes it induces auditory hallucinations

Dude, that was jamtastic. Thanks for that! I'm gonna go listen to it again, 'cause I'm running some really boring tests and this was keeping my head bobbing.

Nice. :thu:

Not a particularly amazing find but good for the price and handy - Yamaha PSR50.

Would probably have passed on it if it didn't hae MIDI, but since it has it's handy as a spare controller, ok for £15.

You studio space has become Quite Serious Business, Clab. :thu: When are we gonna jam?

Oh, right. You live, like FAR away. Pffft. What the hell, man, can't you just pick up and move that studio out to Cali where it's more convenient for me? I mean REALLY, man.

Since Clav has referenced mootboxle(who I first discovered years ago on YT when he was demonstrating the first release of the Korg Arp Odyssey), I thought I'd share his new demo of the Behringer Odyssey.
I think they nailed it, and in some ways I like it better than my Korg version. It has a certain character that reminds me more of the ARP 2600 lineage than the Odyssey, and sometimes I don't feel that with my Korg version.
It was suggested by Uli Behringer earlier in the year their target release price is $500USD.
Think what you will about Behringer, they are serious about quality and nailing these analog clones of vintage synths.
If this Odyssey is any indication of the quality and ability to get the replicated sound of vintage analog synths, I would say this is the new Behringer, not the one with a reputation for poor quality and cheap knock-offs. I think they also proved themselves with the DeepMind analog synths and the Midas based digital mixers.

I was on video-phone with him when he took that thing out of the box. We spent the next three hours going through it and comparing it to the original.

and..........................................................?????

Someone posted his hour long plus live stream on gearslutz when he had first gotten it. Pretty interesting except he was having a lot of stops due to streaming difficulties with his gear.
Very talented guy and I know you got to jam with him not too long ago.. :thu:

I left him a comment on YT for this video and said you said hi from this forum. :)
