Just checking in..the synth meet is in a week. We are all looking forward to it, and I hope you can make it again!

Caloroso (people here know him as TheRealMC) is bringing his Oberheim Four Voice again although he hasn't had a chance to do any more work on it this year, which is ok because it still is amazing. He's also bringing a 60s sparkle top Rhodes with teardrop hammers

I'm planning to be at the library first thing in the morning...hopefully I can manage to get up early ;)

Can't do it. If I don't personally oversee these particular doings things will almost certainly go awry. And if things do go smoothly, I could lose my status as The One Dude Out Of All These Clowns Who Knows This Shit™.

One thing I regret is that I won't be able to deliver that bag for your mini-ms rig. Do you know if anyone is driving through Indy to get there? I could meet them with it. If not, I'm going to make the supreme effort to make it to Knobcon this year.

Or, I could just post it to ya. I've actually got a slightly bigger one that might be better, but I'll have to remember to measure it...

I only know of people coming from north of the meet. That case would be great though. I think Eric goes to Gearfest every year.

They used to want me to go to these yearly conventions for work, stay over 3 days travel blah blah. They're mostly in orlando so I don't mind doing it for the day, but I find more than one day useless. It's the same crap more or less every year.

I skipped it last year. I dunno, it just gets more and more gynormous. More stuff has to be exhibited in tents, and they do it on the summer solstice, which in Indiana means scorchy sweaty heat, and a good chance of torrential rains or worse. When last I was there, it rained so much they had to turn off the power to the tents for an hour or two: no synths, lights, AC, just wet feet.

You have to park in a field in the next county & stand in the sun waiting for the shuttle bus. Several seminars that I wanted to attend were booked solid before I got a chance to sign up.

And maybe the biggest reason I'm disinclined to attend: if Guitarboy even goes, he hangs with his peeps, so I'm really by myself most of the time.

The Analog Heaven Midwest Gathering is much more enjoyable. It be like, if all of us could bring a carload of our favorite gear and spend the day together in a nice big comfy room.
