You know it's not goonna be a good week when Monday morning starts like this:

I'm ok, gonna be limping for a few days and there's some huge bruises coming through, unharmed though. Got a 1 week season ticket on the train to give myself time to heal.

Deffo gonna look at some sort of light shin/knee pads, got bashed up down there real good.

No news on work situation, looks for now at least superficially like things are going to continue, hard to say.

I've got to say, a little padding goes a long way, hands were absolutely fine.

Got some cheapy streth knee/shin pads on Ebay that will do until I find something better, seems to always be that part that cops for it in a mishap. Will shop for some rigid pads somehere I can try them on, prob. best to stop worrying about coming of and accept that when you do about 120 miles a week through the back of beyond you're gonna sometimes.

Ouchie PC! Good to hear that hands are ok. And that work seems like it won't change in a hurry.

I hope the recovery is quick! With those things you never know. I had a fall slipping off the stairs some 5 years ago that didn't seem all that bad, and it took me over 6 months to get over the pain. But two years later I slipped on the ice and fell on my back bone and the pain was unbearable for a few minutes. I thought, this will take even longer to get better.... but within days I had no more pain. So here's hoping you're much better already :)

I seem to be healing slowly but steadily, walking at normal speed again with a slight limp and a little pain, damn good for a day and a half later.

Will see what the bruising is like when I get a bath on Friday - it's looking horrorshow already!

Was sure I'd said something here but already can't find it no so maybe not.

Been a bit busy the last week or two in a not good way as my work are making about half of their head office staff redundant, I've taken voluntary redundancy (if I don't it goes to statutory in which case I'm still out but get nothing), finish on 21st December.

Pay off is not too bad and better than some supposedly ethical places I've worked, gives me some breathing space out to perhaps the end of February if I really need it.

Sucks but not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Mostly healed from the black ice mishap now, hav a slightly sore bump just below one knee and oddly another on the side of my left thumb... dunno how that got there.

Gonna be passing through London tomorrow, mainly for clothes shopping, there's no Long Tall Sally up North at all now and it's about the only place I can find a lot of smart stuff that fits me in one go.

A lot of time to knock around after that, will probably slide past Charing Cross Road just for the gear porn... anyone think of anything particularly worth checking out?

Still no job, interviewing a lot, v. crazy job market at the moment... seems to tip from dead to overdrive and back again.

I agree with the others.. you've got some staying power lady! :thu:

Hows the music shop scene over there? I know them days are gone, but you guys always had a better used / charity market than we did over here. Not to mention you had some pretty well stocked shops of various kinds. Maybe because the US is so big, everything here has always been mail order. But back in the day, I remember seeing adverts for for shops from everything from sci fi to paintball and they were so full, they were spilling out onto the walkway.

The sam ash and guitar center here have paired down their keys to just performance boards. 10 years ago, GC had a room here for synths and it's now the pro audio section. Sam Ash got rid of their studio / computer section too.

I'm not really into anything new at the moment. I'd like the IK uno.. that thing sounds cool. I'm really surprised that Behringer hasn't done the 303 yet. rumor has it they're supposed to be doing the 100m too and I'd like that myself. However, the neutron is based off of CEM, so that's a lot in one box too.

Me? I'm always up for old stereo stuff, EQs, whatever you can run audio into to add some colour. :idk:

I'd enjoy the time off  make a day out of it.

Very sad day here, Eugenes kidneys have finally decided to proper pack up on him.

Was at vets with him this morning and they did what they could, agreed with them we'd see how it goes over the weekend.

Little fella isn't in any obvious pain or distress but has been unresponsive since early afternoon, best case scenario for him now I think is he passes away peacefully overnight.

Worst case is probably he clings on until Monday and I take him to the vets to be put to sleep.

Thanks guys.

Took a ride out earlier to the other side of the city to drop him at a vets that had Sunday opening, don't normally put a catbox on the back of my electric bike lol but he wasn't going to mind  got a nice vet lady who gave me a hug then we arranged an individual cremation for him.

Will get his ashes in the next week or so, probably going up to Whitby later in the month so will scatter them there.
