yes, if I checked, I probably have one hugely bloated interstitial time / space vortex clogging my dryer vent.

EMX1 - gone. It was an impulse buy and I honestly felt like I could do the same thing in Live if I just put the time / money into buying another laptop for internet and the controllers so i could have a permanent setup. I did and well, mission accomplished.

Virus - gone sadly, but it was well thought out sacrifice. I made close to double what I payed for it, took the money and reinvested it in the studio and I now have 100% up time as opposed to "do i really want to hook up everything AGAIN!?!". Albino 3 does 90% of the Virus, so I'm not missing it too badly except for the deep bass drones it does, but I didn't use those that often and sooner or later i'll replace it with the RackXL. So it was all win.

Overall, i'm just sick of hardware. I don't mean that in a pro / con rah rah so rt of way, but I want to write more and worry about gear less and I feel stressed out trying to save and save for hardware. Not to mention I always had that looming feeling like I need a bigger mixer, more cables or something..

For outboard I want to focus on smaller grooveboxes, my eurorack stuff like that that I can connect real quick, record and then tuck away when I'm not using it.

I hardly ever go through the effort of unhooking stuff, that means there's no need to hook it back up

Ok so if you're being so productive and sounding so good, where are those kickass new tracks? :cop:

It's kinda hard to explain.. but I work an uneven schedule.. 2 nights a week, in class a third.. and then I try and fit all the quality time I can in with my family around the edges.

I tend to work in spurts, so I may nail out quite a few things in a month and then put it all on hold for another few months. When I had it all on one desk, it was easier just to unplug everything and move it so I had room to spread out when I was writing or doing home work. Obviously, that became a headache when I wanted to work again.

So now, having the two desk and all software solution, it's just less stress, for me anyway

Um no.

I'm no, ah what was his name? the sold it all for the grand piano and guitar guy?

Anyway, the only purchase so far I sort of regret was Massive. it sounds 85% absynth.. and then only does the dub step wobble thing and it's weird to program. I'll have to download some patches for it and see how other people are using it...

I have stacks of knobs.. 8x8.

I made some wicked beats last night and I created an instrument rack in live.. a bandpass filter and ping pong delay. I created a macro knob that turned the cutoff and delay send at the same time.. MADNESS. UTTER MADNESS ahahahahahah... add in some retriggering from Live and damn that shit was dope.

I dont know if i'd ever use 'em for anything, man that was fun though

the LPD8 and Nanokontrol both have 8 knobs and 4 pages of presets..

although the launch pad makes live incredibly easy to use.. you can control everything but transport (I do that with the nano) on it.

What's cool too is that I use the second page of presets on the nano to control Live's drum rack like on the MC505. I can control the levels and mute individual parts. very cool..

I have to find replacements for the LPD8 knobs. The ones from my nanokontrol will fit so i was thinking i'd call Korg and see if I can't get replacements. If not i'll have to keep looking online.
