It's good that firewire died out. Fire is dangerous enough on its own, let alone inside a wire.

Firewire is perfectly safe if you use asbestos cabling, but just you try to find that nowadays.

Thanks, Nanny State.

Besides, firewire hasn't died out, just look in your toaster.

Speaking of Macs, you won't find me messing with any of those cables. Thunderbolt and lightning very very scary. Just thinking about it makes me tense.

Probably because those are high tension wires.

I think the line is "very very frightening". But carry on frens.

Also, toaster firewire only occurs when the bread touches the wire

Based on Model D timeline, though, who knows when it will appear.

(The $299 Model Ds do seem to be rolling out now, though -- it took a while, but the vibes seem pretty positive for that so far in GS.)

Between this and the Arturia 2 / Rackbrute Eurocrack Gateway Drug Systems, semi-modular monosynths were the "big trend" this NAMM.

Which one of you guiz is going to get one? Personally, I think I just might, but I want someone I trust to tell me if teh knobs are too little, or if it feels junky, ect.

Even if it feels a bit junky, for 299 how can you go wrong?

I'm sure we're not expecting Voyager quality here...

By the way I think I'd get the Neutron over the Moog clone. It sounds just as wonderful...

$299 can buy a lot these days! I've been eyeing the Zoom G5n, which sounds absolutely fabulous and has basically everything you need for guitar, and it also costs 299 dollars. I'm not a digital modeling kind of guy but that one has me basically convinced...

The Minibrute 2 looks/sounds really good too, not just for the semi-modular aspect. But it costs quite a bit more. Still, 10 years ago it would be unheard of to have a synth with all that stuff for what it costs!

Yeah, Neutron looks good too. If none of u guys gets one or the other, I'll just wait for Sweetwater Fest so I can A/B test them.

But if I got the Neutron, I'd have to have Clavanother paint it black for me.

And I'd say "$300? No wai man, a Neutron should have NO CHARGE!"
