FM's always good for THE KLANG.

Hardware FM, though, I don't know... FM needs precision. There was a time when a DX27 was my only synth, and I programmed it hardware style on that little 2 line LCD... no way I'd do that now.

Overall, this NAMM was good for my wallet in that I have no GAS for anything.

Several years ago I remember pissing off a few of the motorcycle types on some forum... somewhere... by implying some of those racers that you sometimes see on the bridges around here late at night doing wheelies and weaving at massive speeds between cars would eventually end up crashing off the bridge into Tampa Bay. (This has happened, of course.)

In fact, there is a slang for these type of drivers within the community that shows that such bravado is all too commonplace -- "squid". Any actual serious motorcycle racer would join the amateur leagues -- AMA for motorcycles I think, similar to NHRA for drag racing and SCCA for autos. The biggest problem with the squid types is not that they endanger their own lives, but sometimes endanger others as well.

Even though you guys already poopoo'd it, I still want a Prologue. It's the only thing from NAMM that tickles my fancy, and that's because while I had it, I DID love the Minilogue. And the Prologue is basically a Minilogue on steroids. I sold the Minilogue to help finance my System 8, which I love and do not regret buying at all. But I do miss the Minilogue. So, now, I want a Prologue.

WANT.

Nothing wrong with wanting one :) Me, the one I wish I had was the Novation Peak  not only is the sound gorgeous, but look at that interface...

I saw STG perform with a peak on New Years and it sounded really nice. If I liked tabletop synths I'd want one.

Agreed, CR. The Peak seems nice. I listened to a few demo's when it first made splashdown.

ETA: While I do want a Prologue, I won't pay 2 grand for it. I can live without it until the price drops significantly.

Exactamundo.

Man. Do want a Rev 2 also. But dang. I'm supposed to be content with my current setup.

Which I am, in all honesty.

It's true. There are lots of good synths on the market nowadays with good interfaces. Thankfully, it seems like some companies actually started listening to their customers.
