I've unfortunately had no experience with previous Studio Electronic Minimoog inspired stuff. I haven't had much more time to go through much more than "play with presets, turn some knobs". My impressions are very good so far. It's kind of it's own thing.
It can get pretty close to Moog but I don't think it's 100%, and it's a little harder to tame towards that smooth Moog style if that's what you want. Still, it's pretty easy to spin knobs and come up with makes some very thick basslines and leads. Thicker than the Waldorf Pulse I had for sure. It's also hard to make a "bad" sound, good for times where you just want to twiddle.
It also reminds me of the Pulse in that the feedback and whatnot produce some pretty nice (MHO) screaming buzzy distorted timbres. The Minimoog never really went into super-heavy distorted mode from what I recall (though my experience is limited) and that's the side of the SE-02 that I'd say is the most "different", along with a little added flexibility (dedicated LFO, XMod, etc.)
