Yikes, a quick look suggests even the "student" bassoon is a couple of grand.

Although by far "not the same", it is good for us non-professional hobbyist types that cheaper bassoon sample packs exist, allowing us to "synthesize" bassoon whenever we need to. (Take that, Synthesizer Patel. )

I think it's time for a ruling on ST Disco. I most heartily give it two opposable thumbs up.

Except didn't anybody think about what the initials spell?

Wife and I finished Game of Thrones and stumbled onto Trailer Park Boys. It's like 'idiocracy' on steroids. If you like comedic train wrecks, check it out.

We're on Mozart in the Jungle (Amazon) right now. Season 1 was good, season 2... isn't very focused yet. One of these days I'm going to get to Stranger Things. Teh Wife's binging on Blue Bloods right now.

i'm meh on stranger things.

Season 2 is better than season 1. Season 1 was too many dropped 80's references and 2 has gotten better, but.... there's no suspense or mystery to it. It's not "smart" in the least bit, or rather they focus on keeping it light. It's enjoyable, watchable not engaging in any sense. It's a lot like the orville. it's easy to get and they don't offer you anything as a look beneath the surface.

I haven't heard much good about The Orville, so I haven't bothered. I've mostly been spending my time on house projects, and wayy to much time zoning-out with meme surfing on Imgur.

So apparently Amazon wants to make a Lord of The Rings TV series. I'm not sure why, given that the movies are so good, but I'm sure a lot of people will want to watch it...

I only seem to watch a few shows, Gotham, Supergirl and The Flash... but not Arrow which I can't stand.

Trailer Park Boys is pretty great.

Recently I’ve gotten really into some of the streaming channels’ original series, like The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu and Man In The High Castle on Amazon. I’m pretty over Netflix now but that’s just because before I met my girlfriend I scraped the bottom of that barrel.

PC, same! I could not get through Arrow.. it was like "oh my this is good!" then "is this a soap opera, like a bad one or what?". I totally got lost on it. Flash was fun, by far my favorite. DC legends of tommorow is on netflix.. it's good.

The orville.. just hasn't found it's voice yet. I'm hopeful.. but eh. It can be really good, or really bad. It has the same issue with stranger things. they don't go into the characters at all, we don't get to know them or what makes them them. There's no subtlety to either show. The Orville could be really good, but it's missing something.
