You should. It's awesome.

I still shall get the Novation Circuit at some point. Oh yes.

EP, didn't you end up getting one or something?

I know you also have an Akai but that was probably just

Have I used it?

Hardly!

Why?

The Korg sampler does sound pretty good and has good sounds right out of the box. The non-sampler version (E2) seems a bit odd - no ADSR? Weird.

Too many boxes, so little time for any of them.

I don't know if it has discreet ADSRs, but there is some sort of envelope generator. I've seen so many youtube vids over the past few days trying to demo these things its ridiculous and has my brain fried but I know it has SOME form of EG.

I am SUPER EXCITED to get all my samples loaded up and put to some use. I should be getting the box tomorrow, according to UPS tracking. :)

Oh, and the onboard synth, though not as robust as the one on the regular Electribe 2, is some variation of the KringKRANG's engine, so I'm expecting that to be really good, though I doubt I will use that feature too much (maybe as a scratch pad).

Korgs electribes only have a sort of release control. It's kinda weird, but kinda neat at the same time as you pretty much just scroll through the sample to where you want the sound to cut off and release at, from left to right.

It's an odd duck that's for sure, but the intent of the sampler's was sustained looping, but rather one shots, I guess. I don't recall 100%, but raw single cycle synth waveforms, like saw sine etc could be sustained for x amount of notes, but bass and drums would release no matter what. I think it was just beyond the machine to do strings and pads, just rhythm or arpeggiated type sounds.

So, I'm sorta digging the Electribe so far. It sounds really good for 16 bit, but the preset samples are meh. I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with it yet because chores and general business over the weekend. But I can't wait to get my own samples loaded in and go to town. :jam:

I have a few plus a rack multi-FX. I'm probably pretty good on effects for now. I just wanted something to handle samples besides just handling them within Cubase.
