Very little info around on it and most of that is the same copy paste, apparently has 3 arpegiators!

Heh, there's a Wiki page about Elgam at least. In Italian!

Going through the models, my impression is that this company mostly made stuff for the auto-accompaniment style / home organ market (a much diminished market today still covered by Lowrey and the like, but big enough back in the 70s/80s for an organ store to be a staple of almost every mall).

The Wiki also interestingly links to a few other obscure Italian synth / organ manufacturers. Such as CRB Electronica, who apparently made a polysynth called Uranus.

One can only imagine a certain word play does not work in Italian!

I actually always wanted a modular like that. Just something self contained to lose yourself in.

U guize are a constant source of weirdness.

I THANK YOU!!

-

Apparently CRB made lotsa combo organs.

But methinks that one in the video's getting some help with a bit of off-board effects. Youthinks?

-

I don't know what the Uranus synth sounds like, but I'll bet it's got a lot of bottom end.

Wonder if there was an expander for it called the Klingon? It's probably been wiped from history by now.

*looks that word up*

Leave it to the British to come up with colorful slang for rather disgusting concepts.

I'm not sure if I should ask what the name of the wind controller should be...

All farting around aside, that looks like it could have been a really good polysynth: six octaves, tons of knobbage, all those buttons that might or might not be mod routing, and somebody on teh innernets said it had eight voices.

If properly marketed, it could have wiped the competition.

Sadly, my best guess is that this synth went over like a fart in church.

I can't find a modern picture of this Uranus synth -- most of the modern pictures seem to be of their combo organs and home organs that they seem most known for.

Perhaps too many people bought this thinking that they could use this to play arias and hymns using the traditional Home Organ Cheese patches. Only to discover that, without proper programming, this Uranus synth was only capable of weird farty sounds.

Almost like it's been flushed from memory... I guess most people don't give a sh*t about it anymore. It's a forgotten note in the anals of history...

Never heard of one of these either until one showed up on a ebay search, sometimes I sift through a few pages of 'electronic keyboard' to see what's got mislisted in there.

Can be transistor or valve, also has built in spring reverb:

The one that showed up was £25 but collection only and in Blackpool... would cost more in train fare to get there, and easily a 6 hour round trip...
