Which is dumb. Who has desk space for all these "desktops" and "modules"? Both of those things would fit neatly in racks instead, and is IMO the more desirable format. But, I don't run the show, either.

The S8 does support the 101 plug out. When ever I mention it to my synth friends they always seem to think its a bad idea to get. I don't think they ever owned a real one though.

I think part of me just wants to fill that darned fourth engine slot with...something.

dang marketing department .?

Do it, mang. Get it.

A Promars might be nice too, though. I dunno.

I'm ok with an empty slot and it's highly likely I won't ever fool with any plugout shenanigans. Mainly because it came with the 106 preloaded and the S8 native engine is awesome AF.

the promars is a contender, but I don't need it either. I do like the idea of a fully loaded S8 though, which is weird because IT IS SOOOO MUCH SYNTH. Having three in one is crazy because it's hard to decide which one to play. They are all super awesome and the S8 native is very powerful. I do fancy the Jupiter most though, as that was the selling point for me.

Puppy, you would love this thing, but...the internet does not show proof that you have moved or synthed, and with no pic or tapes, I am not sure this is real. I would be dissapointed to learn that you are just GooGaBot in disguize

So, the option if one wants analog done right and have real controls (not mini stuff) is still DSI. Or Moog, kinda, if you can afford it of course.

We're back to where we began...

Depends on what you mean by "done right". I think the Behringer Deepmind counts as "done right". Plus the expensive Modal synths.

Ok, I'll give you the Deepmind 12 even though it only has 49 keys  But you're right, they're full size and all. And the controls are awesome.

Yeah, I do prefer more (same with the new DSI stuff frankly).

But, to give one example, I'm not going to call an Oberheim 8 Voice "analog done wrong" either even though it also only has 49 keys.

Also, wasn't there a very few 5 octave ones? Maybe a dually with a 61 below and a 49 on top??

I know rite?

And, DeepModule has all the keys you give it. And comes with rack ears no extra charge. And a very cool ipad/android touch graphic app thingy.
