Of course you have valuable input, even if it is gratuitous. :D

Man! Stu from Sweetwater just called me back (I'd emailed him this morning) saying they had a demo unit for $899 with a two year warranty that he'd sell me. I said WRAP IT UP.

Then he says, Mike, OMG I am so sorry but someone literally JUST put it on an invoice (meaning they'd just sold it out from under me).

Now I has a sadness.

Sweetwater automatically gives you a two year manufacturer's warranty on everything they sell (some kind of deal they have with manufacturers). So, it's the same as an "extended" warranty.

If it were me, I'd say a LOT of extra candy would make it all right :)

Wasn't there a big stink on HC sometime back about Sweetwater opening up those fresh, fresh factory boxes just so they could throw candy in them?

I honestly don't like it when they send me candy. I also don't like it when the call me three days later.

I actually had to order a cable from them yesterday, so by now I've spent a grand total of $43 in all the years I've had my studio. One of the reasons I don't like doing business with them is that they cold call me looking for sales. I buy when I want and I go for the best deal, whoever has it. No loyalty here, and no amount of man on man phone courting is going to get me to soften up lol

The put the candy in the shipping boxes, not the factory boxes.

Stu never cold calls me.

But he does follow up on new purchases I make, usually around the week 3 mark to make sure the equipment is satisfactory and is in working order.

Unless I have no other option, I won't order from anyone but Stu.

I receive candy with every order and never has the factory box been opened to put it in. It's always in the shipping box.

Also, is eBay still the best place for me to sell my gear?

Some people are talking a lot about Reverb.com these days. STG told me that on your first sell, they hold the funds until the buyer receives the goods. So you don't want to sell a high value item first go.

I want to use it, but alls my shit is high dolla baby

Thanks, Clav. I've posted on local Craigslist, Facebook (not expecting anything there), and Reddit. I will eBay if I must, but things are kinda crappy there lately, I hear. I will check out Reverb.com as per your suggestion.
