Clavicle will certainly agree.

CERTAINLY.

I had one for a year or so. Didn't play it much. It was not up to mah standards. I actually eventually went with a Gibson. Never saw that one coming, but I like it.

MIEK! HOW HAV U BEEN FREN???

Yes Martins are good guitars. I personally think they're a bit overpriced for what they are, but they are certainly fine :) And they probably don't fit Plink's budget :tounge:

Humbug. I didn't get an acoustic for Christmas. I did however get some GC gift cards to the tune of $150. Should I add a little cash & get a used $200 Ibanez or something like that? How about a used Indiana Scout Dreadnought for $50? I hear good things about those.

Or should I leave the cards safely ensconced in my sock drawer?

Not an Ibanez... unless they've gotten much better since the last time I've played them. The tops weren't even real wood and the sound was basically dull and dead.

Can you use the gift cards online to buy used stuff?

I think so, there's a button for that in the checkout window. But somebody bought the Indiana Scout.

Maybe I'll just save up for a Kodyssey module. Y'all seen those? Pretty cool, Huh?

I wish it had programmable pots. I'd rather rack such a thing, but what a pain to stretch for sliders stuck up somewhere out of reach. But really, I wish it was a 2600 instead.

I wish Korg would offer a rack Minilogue. With eight voices.

If you can buy something used from GC online, you don't even need all of your gift cards. Get this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Greg-B ... -Guitar.gc

There's no pics or details, but that is this: http://gregbennettguitars.com/guitars/a ... s/om-6-ce/

Great specs, unbeatable for 99 bucks. Solid top, ovankol back and sides (laminated for sure, but it's the same woods I have in my Breedlove guitar and my guitar sounds just great)

Speaking of Breedlove - for 159 you can get this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Breedl ... -Guitar.gc

If you look at other Breedlove Passports that are on sale used on GC's site, they're always over 300 dollars. So this is a steal.

Either one would be a guitar that you would have no problems playing with live in a professional setting.

Just don't get a cheap sawdust Ibanez.

Done!

It's black, but that shouldn't affect the tone, right?

No, it should not. And it should make you look a bit more badass while playing it.

I've thought about this for a few days now, and I'm pretty sure no one's ever looked badass while strumming acoustic guitar.

I think for the most part you are right.

However, I can think of one exception immediately: Johnny Cash.

Of course, this might be the exception that proves the rule.

I was thinking that Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Zak Brown, and Dwight Yoakum look pretty bad ass playing acoustic (in addition to the aforementioned Mr. Cash).

Well, alright, but them fellers is pretty much outside my sphere. Cept for Mr. C.

On 2nd thought, I think I once watched a demo thingy by Urban about using a B bender. But it might have been this guy:

And he always had a black guitar. Hence my point.

So Mr. Plink "Badass" Floyd, did you get it yet?

Well, the Baddass Black Guitar WAS A LIE! Because sloppy Guitar Centering.

Here it is from the beginning:

I sayed "I CAN HAZ COOSTIC GEETAR FOR CHEEPS?"

and CR sayed "YA GET THIS ONE IZ GUD DEEL!"

so I sayed "YAY GIMME!"

and then post mang sayed "IZ HERE DUDE!"

and I sayed "YAY (rip tear bubble popopop) OH NOES IZ NOT AS ADVERTISED!!"

And I had a suspicion about it when I looked up the model on the mfgr site and they
didn't mention anything about ever making that one in black. And the ad had NO PIC.

Here it is:

Image

Now, I'm a total muggle when it comes to guitar wizardry,
but I knew at once that this wasn't the goods when I saw this:

Image

Because my homework told me that I should be expecting the SuperZonic 10 Band
Electronolyzer with Built-in-Tune-O-Bueno Display™. Which this obviously wasn't.

Here's the lazy employee part:

Image

OK, I'll admit the Model number is something along the lines of ظهغگچﺷظ,
but c'mon, GC Dude! We should expect a little better sleuthing than that.

BUT: I have always sayed that GC is a good place to buy used stuff, because if they screw up THEY MAKE IT RIGHT.

F'rinstance, they took that one back, sayed "sorry dude", and made me a good deal on this used solid mahogany dred:

Because I remembered mah fren Clav sayed "DUDE JUST GET A FENDER YUL B FIEN!"

Kinda badass, maybe?
