MetroSonus wrote:Briefly describe your workflow.

This one is kind of tough, since I don't always write the same way. I guess most often, I start by noodling. Noodling usually leads to a particular sound I really like and/or a hook. Next I'll add a beat, record the hook and beat into Cubase, loop it and work on fleshing it out. Once there's a working draft, I'll go back and record the actual takes that I will use, complete with cleaned up sounds while roughly mixing along the way. If I'm really on a roll, lyrics will pop into my head at some point - I always have the toughest time with lyrics. Finally, I'll listen to the mix over 9,000 times adjusting volumes and eq's as needed. I would say lastly I master, but I don't actually master.

Above all, the MS2000 is my favorite piece of gear. If that thing ever dies, a part of me will die along with it. The character of the sounds that machine can produce fits my "style" perfectly. It's extremely knobby, easy to program, has a robust mod matrix, step sequencer, and vocoder to boot! What's not to love?

Oh geez. I'm not good at tooting my own horn, so I'm not sure what, exactly, to say here. I like chocolate?

Treehouse Code of Studio Pictorial Poastal Etiquette, Paragraph 12, Sub-Codicil 13 states:

"When poasting pix of ur studio, doan't forget to include 1 of the following:

- kitteh(s) (a goggeh will suffice in the likely event of an uncooperative kitteh)

- lava lamp(s) (in the absence of lava lampage, '70s or '80s art rock albumn covers or manga figurines may substitute, if sufficiently ironic)

All displays and winkey blinkey lights must be enabled in full glory mode."

Don't forget, points will be deducted for neglecting to remove anything that could be remotely mistaken as an inhaler.

I shall have to remedy my ignorance of the code. New pics to come at some point this weekend. Blinky lights and goggeh included.

Yea, if you don't mind. Unless you want to use the "before" pic, because the "after" one was taken with Hisptamatic (crazy filters and all).

I propose that we amend The Treehouse Code of Studio Pictorial Poastal Etiquette, Paragraph 12, Sub-Codicil 13, where it states:

"Don't forget, points will be deducted for neglecting to remove anything that could be remotely mistaken as an inhaler."

It should read:

Don't forget, points will be deducted for neglecting to remove anything that could be remotely mistaken as an inhaler, unless it's a really, like, ironic inhaler."

Somehow I'm thinking that the inhaler clause should also make mention of sex toys.

Some of PC's toys are so ironic, they are actually made of iron.

Just sayin.
