Selling: Nord Lead 2x (rack)

Postby selfinflikted » Wed Nov 14, 2012 4:04 pm

Just posting here before it goes up on the dreaded eBay this weekend. If anyone's interested, PM me and we can talk price and whatnot. (it's mint condition, btw)

These posts are helpful when prices are mentioned :o

Not that I should be looking at this anyway... :)

Price is negotiable. Tis why it's not mentioned. ;)

That said, I'd be happy parting with it for around $700.00 in return.

I'm glad it's out of my price range, so I won't feel tempted :) May I ask if you're going to be replacing it with another synth?

Yea, those particular ones apparently really hold their value. For the past month, I've not seen a single one sell for less than $800.00 on the dreaded eBay. Since I paid $1200.00 for it brand new a few years ago, I figure it's a fair price, especially since mine is completely mint.

Oh, and I'm not sure about another synth. I have my MS2000 (I will NEVER part with this synth - they will have to pry it out of my cold dead hands), and the SH-201. I did finally sell that Blofeld, too. If I do buy another synth, it would most likely be a Virus A or B. I just love the sound of the earlier models, but I'd probably be satisfied with any of the Virus line up to the Ti's (A, B, or C). I don't need all that extra integration fluff, nor do I particularly want another board with keys. Desktop module would do fine, with ears to mount in the rack.

Yeah Virus As and Bs are tempting me right now. And Supernovas. How can you not love Supernovas? Even their drum sounds are good :)

Dude, I know! I even, fleetingly, considered grabbing one of the mini novas, but then I came to my senses.

fyi i seem to recall a terrible time finding rack ears for my virus c. its not impossible but very difficult unless you buy a unit with them.

also, 2 knobs were loose when i bought it. i didn't think it was a big deal but apparently that really hurts resale value.

so i couldn't find the specific alps pots anywhere so as a last resort i emailed access and they shipped me like 6 or so for free even though i was the second owner.

this is one reason i always big up the virus series plus it sounds amazing

Yea. I have wanted one for years, and if I'd just waited, saved a little more money, and had fewer impulse buys along the way, I'd have long ago had one. I think I probably suck at life.

Doing good! Wish I were home working on music instead of being here at work with very little to do. =\

Cool. So are you getting anything else or is there no GAS? Getting infekted by any chance? :)

A guy came by to see my guitar yesterday but didn't buy it... it's a tough market to sell anything right now.

I haven't decided yet, actually. I'm still on the fence with the whole POD vs Yammie emulator. I don't think I will get another synth right now - I'm satisfied with what I have for now, actually. And just having gotten that new telecaster... that really makes me want SOMETHING new for that. However I decide to fill the empty space in my studio (and my heart) that the Nord used to occupy, I will end up waiting until a bit after Christmas to make a move. Decisions, decisions!

Which guitar you selling again?

A Japanese Stratocaster from the 80s - 1972 reissue model. Naturally road worn/relic'd but the frets and the fingerboard show hardly any wear.

Which ones did ya get? A few months ago, there was a free one called SunrizerXS or something like that. I was REALLY surprised at how decent it is for such a platform as the iPhone. At least it's something I can noodle on when boredom strikes.

I feel like such helpless bastard. I can't even look at Craigslist at work. Yet I'm able to browse and post in forums like this and HC.
