Lots of yanks think TexMex is Mexican. I like some of both.
I really like me some Chiles Rellenos, but apparently they don't present well, because
the internets don't contain any pics of them that don't look like deep fried ass.

My fave place here in the hinterlands to get them is "Acapulco Joe's" in Indy.
If you're ever here, it has my highest recommendation...

Joe himself is no longer with us, but some of his family still runs the place. His story:
"In the 50's, Joe crossed the Rio Grande six times, only to be sent back to Mexico every time. On his seventh try, he was sentenced to a 9-month prison term in Missouri. After his release, he walked seven nights (to avoid immigration officials) to Corpus Christi guided by the lights on the highways and the railroads. There he got a job as a busboy in a Greek restaurant, working 12 hours a day for $50 a week until a friend told him about an opening for a waiter at a restaurant in Minneapolis. Joe headed for the bus station, where his bad English netted him a trip to Indianapolis instead. Indiana people had never seen a taco before, and when they tasted them they loudly proclaimed "¡Ay, ay, ay!" and wisely didn't deport him.
Here he is:

Ever hour, the juke box plays Kate Smith's version of "God Bless America",
which is of course the official best version.
Carumba.
