What means the name? Is it an inagaddadavidafication of Old Flame. Or wut?

Is it an easy matter to enable Ovi downloads fer yer buds? I can do nothing but press 'play'.

Will I ever find a good tenor sax for under $500. That song inspired Coltrane imagery in mah hed.

gee, thanks PF. I did not sell the leslie. the name is from a book I read when I was 14. I don't know how to enable DL - I think I would have had to do it when I uploaded. Yes.

so anyway, I suppose I could send you an mp3 of it, but I currently don't have much time for anything at the mo...

"Kumquat Kids" was the Eddie Henderson tune that got me turned on to his wonderful genius.

Oh, that Orl Fane, of course! The "Gollum-like" Gnome who "covets the Sword as Gollum does the ring." He stole the Sword and forced Panamon, Keltset and Shea to track him down. He was driven insane and killed by the Warlock Lord after he took control of his mind and forced him to try to take the Sword.

I keed; I havn't read it, but it sounds like something I'd probably like. :thu: 'Joo ever read any of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever" by Stephen R. Donaldson?

And don't go to any trbl about mp3s. I'll copy the stream, if you don't object.

I read a tiny bit of T.C., but I enjoyed the Gap series MUCH MORE. SOS was cool if you're 14, but when I tried to revisit it as an adult I realized that TB is just a hack.

Maturity happens.

How about the Spellsinger series by Alan Dean Foster? Somewhat comic...

Wow, I thought I was the only person who read those. That was a long time ago, though, I think when they were first printed.

I remember thinking, "This Covenant dude needs a swift kick in the ass, why am I reading this," and yet I kept reading.

But, to me, the Thomas stuff was better reading than the 'Bored of the Rings' trilogy.
See, everybody said "Yo, Tolky, we be lovin' the Hobbit stuff, mang! Givus moar!"
So he ground out three of the most boring eternities I've ever trudged through. :bro:
And I'm not scared of lengthy tomes. I thought 'Moby Dick' was a real page turner.
'War & Peace' wasn't worth it, but I finished it just because.

I've never read Tolkien's stuff, and from everything I've heard, I'm not about to, either. have you tried some Orson Scott Card? I loved "Ender's Game".

I found Tolkien rather enjoyable. And for the record, "Bored Of the Rings" was actually something a bit different  :freak:

Orson Scott Card is probably my favourite author; I recommend everything he has written, and it will keep you busy for quite a while.

PuppyMan: If you dug E.G. that much, you should try the rest of the series, or at least the rest of the trilogy.

Huh. I can usually boast of reading at least something from just about everybody.
Of course I've heard of OSC, but his works have managed to elude me. Maybe his
covers aren't lurid enough to compete with my usual fare.

I get this lulzery now, though...

Oh, and 'The Hobbit' is a pretty fun read, if you don't mind the somewhat dry style of that period. It's just, the trilogy is the same story blended with 90% sawdust and turnip wiskers for filler.

 Yeah, I read 'Bored of the Rings'. :lampoon:

Well, GNBLFYA anyway.

Heinlein: DemiGod.

Although his later "adult" novels tended to drag. 'Friday' dragged. I recently read 'Grumbles From the Grave'. I don't recommend it, even for insight into RAH's personal philosohpy. You can find all of that you want in most of his books. Especially 'For Us, The Living'. meh.

I still re-read some of these from time to time, when I want to coddle the inner child:
'Have Space Suit, Will Travel'
'Red Planet'
'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress'
I can't find: 'Glory Road'
and 'Citizen of the Galaxy'.

Eh, I like 'em all...

Robert Silverberg. Go read him. Now.

Heinlein: Hit or miss, I thought "Friday" was just OK, "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" was just OK...

I finished rereading Asimov's Foundation trilogy last summer, it's a good read.

And yes, I did read the whole Ender trilogy, but I think the first book was the best.

Too easy. OCEAN-something. lol.

What you should do is post more like this:
-- It avoids having to write a complete sentence.
-- Bullet-points makes everyone a winner.
-- I ran out of points to make. lol.
