Some of the buttons are a little twitchy (not the pads, I'm talking the clicky buttons), but otherwise works just fine.

Make me an offer. Fo' serious.

Dolla fiddy? Nah mang, I'll go tree fiddy.

But really, my next gear purchase is going to be this Friday. I have a 20% discount coupon from MF which expires on the 12th. This date is also the first day of Sweetfest. I'ma see if SW will match that deal, & if so I'ma get a new keyboard controller. If they don't take that deal, I'ma order it from MF RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SALESMAN HAHAHAH!

Awwwww man I wanna be there to see that.

Also, which controller?? Please find me The One controller! (excellent action, no flimsy controls, no obtuse mapping, built-in zones and splits).

Very well, I will TRY ALL THE CONTROLLERS!

Just me, but my ideal 61 key controller MUST HAVE:

- At least 61 adult sized synth weighted keys. (Moar would be great, but those always have at least semi-weighted action).

- Actual MIDI out.

- A joystick. I cannot abide wheels. I just don't like em. Nope.

I fear, Mr. Teh Pup, that unless there's One Controller out there that we haven't seen, the choices are comprised only of two that you've already tried:

Novation 61 SL MKII

and

Roland A800Pro

& it'll probably be the Roland, if I can stand the keys.

We hold Roalnd up to much ridicule, but they've made lots of quality stuff that lasts and lasts.

The D-Beam has no moving parts, you know.

If you just want awesome non-weighted keys, there's always the DX7II...

Or even better, the EX5 apparently can be had in he 300-400 dollar range.

Only problem is, you can't use your 20% off discount...

my friend is wanting to replace the pads on his akai mpk 61 with useable ones

it has the shady 'will make ur rap beats better' vibe and is $100 to sum website, then he has to open the keyboard and likely void any warrantee

I have the feeling that to make The One we will have to somehow customize our gears

I looked into upgrading all the knobs on my novation to good ones but this may be too baseball for google, I found hardly any results
