:thu: It's like The Nukes of Hazzard, with more Zen.

That episode, however, is bosh. Yeah, Americans are boorish swine when abroad, but British shopkeepers* don't bend over backwards to please customers. Before I visited England, several Brits told me to mind the fact that, there, the customer is not always right.

*If they aren't all Pakis** by now.

from my FB status:

"I'm learning that life is one big, long to-do list. And I'm not going to make any ground on it unless someone makes a pot of coffee, drinks it and starts making burgers.

So are you ready boys? Are you ready girls? We need some discipline in here!"

The cold is fine.. better today actually. trying to catch up on some loose ends today mainly. about 90% finished another ambient track last night. Im' trying to finish off my drone album and finish off the dance tracks I wanted for my next one. just in general, trying to finish things.

but you have to realize.. when you no posta, everyone sits around an sez, ehy why you no posta!? so you betta posta if you know what I meana.

So then since were all here.. what's new?

and fyi I swear to god I will, eventually, sooner or later buy your keyboard. I think it'd work really well for how I have my desksetup.

here's an odd techie question.. I have to disable my laptops wireless card other wise I get huge hiccups in my USB audio. do you know of any program or app that will let you disable it from an icon or something? normally i'd just hit Fn + f2 or something, but now the laptop is shelved under the desk and I can't reach it :/ but now I have to go through the device manager and that's a pain..

Hmm. No, I don't know offhand. But I'll bet there's a command-line that could be used to do that, and if so, a desktop icon could be linked to it. I just don't know what the commands would be. :idk:

In a related vein, I had to disable the multi-media card reader built into my PC, which was causing all manner of hiccups. Some USB device drivers just aren't written with "consideration" for other system processes. Stupid programmers.

it's the most unstable, inconstant thing i've seen yet. egads! something that's already been plugged in and installed is on a different port! re install the whole thing you bilge water bastards! I pitt ye if yer at a live show arghhhhh...........

Everything on my laptop is disabled, the wireless is the only thing I have to toggle, to get any performance out of my USB card. I'm quite sure this is a laptop thing though. I don't mind really though cause I never use anything that doesn't require anything other than USB.

I'll have to research the command line thingy..

I'm keeping the PCR warm for you, Metro. In fact, I actually did dig the box out and was gonna pack it up.

See, I know how USB works, and that's why I went with Firewire for my interfaces. Unfortunately, Firewire is going bye-bye. If this PC ever kicks the bucket, I'll have to find a Firewire adapter for a new PC, I'm sure.

cool thanks!

ive got everything setup now where the interface is right behind the monitor with an 8 port USB hub. I've got my ilock key in the hub and then I want to work, I just plugin my headphones and controller into the hub.

what's kinda of neat about it is that windows uses the built in sound card and Live uses the USB one. So I can leave it plugged in and my son can still hear his games he plays. It's kind of weird, but being under the desk baffles the laptop speakers and it actually sounds pretty good down there.

fwiw i have a somewhat old now M-Audio Firewire interface I use for audio and MIDI - it's served me well but the drivers hate everything, or more precisely a lot of stuff just hates the drivers.

and, erm, Hanon rhythmic drills :thu: they supercharge your hands!
