It occurs to me that the things that make electronics of this day cheaper aren't the things that speakers are made of. Cu, Fe, Neodymium & such stuff is probably more pricey than ever.

Speakering of Neodiddlyium, I think this guy is funny, in a EE nerdy way:

You've discovered AvE, too? His linguistical confabulations cracks me up!

Keep your dick in a vice!

... basically it's the equivalent of the huge wall of fake Marshall stacks in rock and roll, eh?
As in, you haven't *needed* lots of amps to be loud in most venues since, well, probably before I was born, since the PA takes care of that for you.
But the Marshall stack "looks louder".
(I'm guessing that this meme is dying, though, as "music from a band" declines and more music moves electronic, where even in an actual band scenario, your "live performance" is mostly backing tracks.)

Even in this day of cheaper electronics, I have doubts a $50 speaker would include a crossover and two cones.
From what I read, fake tweeters are actually decently common in the low end speaker world. Ah, marketing.

It's the equivalent of thinking you're getting a tweeter and not actually getting a tweeter.

I'm still weirded out from the last time I was at a rock club gig and someone referred to the guy with a laptop as being on keyboards. :freak: Seriously. Admittedly it was these fuckers and I was only there because it was someone's birthday.

Seems to have got an actual keyboard since then... I wonder how their music career is coming along?

Dead actually, according to their Facebook.

Yes, they should've learned to keyboard. If they did, maybe they could have truly lived their epic dream to be an even worse, technoized version of the Macc Lads. :tounge:

Some observations:
- is this a Hello Kitty factory? Her apron suggests it.
- Looks like toilet paper, but where's the center core?
- Looks like a job ripe for automation.
- WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SHORT WASTE NUB??
- That red apron does work on her, though. 8/10 fashion check
- Looks like a good way to lose a finger/hand/arm/all sense of purpose
- Good use of workspace lighting. 8/10, execllent photonic flux density
- That bandsaw looks like mine minus the Jet logo.
- Do you think that's a carbide-tipped blade? I bet it's a carbide-tipped blade. 8/10, hardly needs sharpening. Tomatoes and tin cans live in fear of it. Don't wait, order now.
- Actually, I wouldn't mind having that nifty crosscut sled. 8/10, would attach
- Ratings today are on special at 8/10 the suggested manufacture retail price.
- 8 out of 10 Hello Kitty slicers recommend carbide for all their roll slicing needs. Don't be an outlier. Get with the program, yo.
- I have decided that that's not toilet paper, but one really long marshmallow being cut to sell as SUPER DOUBLE LARGE HELLO KITTY BRAND SUGAR FLUFFS
- Now I want cocoa.
- 8/10

I stand corrected. Would that be the official HELLO CLOUDY (TM) brand of managed computing resources?
