Well, we already had the rain kilebasa, which is the son's favorite and I'm now deferring to. If anything, it's going to be rain chef oh' bor' ing.

We went out last night to prep and everybody had wiped out the canned goods and lines were down the street at the gas station. We're good though, it looks like it's going to go east, but we're going to get a ton of weather.

When the storm slows down, I'm going to invest in some jerry cans and fuel stabilizer and just keep 'em full in the garage and make sure my propane tank is full along with some kind of stove or adapter. 9 times out of 10, we're good here, we're protected by St Pete (ha ha SW! kidding..) and we have a gas stove and we're right next to the power station, so we've never been without power for more than 24 hours.

But we're in a vulnerable area, so it's just good to be prepared..

Coincidence? I THINK NOT

This guy here at work is actually worried that we'll have hurricane winds here in Atlanta.

I told him to just chill.

Then I said, "but maybe if the storm comes up this way it'll spawn tornadoes".

I don't think he will sleep tonight. New guy that we hired fresh out of college

STAY SAFE METRODONUTS*

*(no idea where that came from, but it sounds funny)

Let's hire KROG to fix teh weather probs: they can mini-microtize teh hurricanes so we can just ship em west.

But srz, stay safe Mr. Donuts and SW. Don't forget u are only ten inches above sea level.

& Guitarboy's Gfriend is from Beaverton. She is ensaddened at the goings on in her home state.

I could actually see the haze of Canadian wildfires and smell the smoke in Chicago a few days ago. I had to put my shirt over my nose when outdoors. I guess the smoke was wafting over Lake Michigan.

Stay safe!

Tomorrow I'll be ducking out to New Orleans (via Perry FL for a first stop). The wife's family was over there and was expecting my wife this weekend for Mom care duty before this storm thing anyways. The house is actually somewhat high up for Pinellas, so as long as any storm surge is <20ft we're okay (that doesn't look very likely at all at this point) provided the drainage ditch in the back doesn't flood out or something.

The forecast has enough windy possibilities that I'll put up the storm shutters for the first time since I've owned the house. I think most likely even this won't be necessary, but if the forecast errors and Irma goes more west, Sunday to Monday will be a doozy of a day. Doesn't look as bad for us as Miami at this point, though.

You know, I only just got the pun now when I came in here to see if everyone was ok... have a FB friend in Fort Myers who is doing some serious prepping for this!

lol I didn't catch the pun either. I think it in poor taste to jest when a hurricane is pounding the pud of our nation.

But last I looked, the projected path of pounding is straight up Metro's backyard.

Stay safe, Dude.

And that, indeed seems to be the case! Glad I put the shutters up.
Hopefully the in-theory much-better-hurricane-protected roof I put up last year performs as advertised. :tounge:
