hmm, not sure wut has to do with context, but Thanks for teh tip! I like it. I'd just been thinking "Ya know, wut teh world needs is a good Russian lesbop duo". Something about it smacks of 80s. Maybe it's just that retro russ throwback thing, idunno...

I love to listen to speed metal, but I don't feel guilty about it. In fact I'm listening to Stratovarius right now.

Is my condition as bad as it seems? :jam:

I personally think they were all off their faces during that whole album.

Not that exciting, huh?

Yeah that album sucked. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't under the influence of anything. I think they were kind of star struck because of the success of the previous album. Peter Furler's kind of silly by nature, but that's why I like him, even if not all he does works well. That album didn't, but his forays into electronic music are a bit better. His solo album is pretty good.
Still, Newsboys are now with Tate a world ahead of where they were with Furler.

MMmmm I'll hold my tongue.

You know that I know them, right? Went biking with Peter and the gang in Baja. My brother in law is their production manager and his brother is their manager.

Was a funny story about Michael Tait - they had internally agreed that Peter was leaving and Tait was taking over, but were not ready to announce it yet. Tait had a guest appearance at a concert sincing one of their songs, then just blurted it out they he was the new lead singer.

Things went nutso, and my brother in law had to spend the next week frantically trying to keep the upcoming concerts happening, as everyone was cancelling, demanding refunds, etc.

Don't hold your tongue. Why would you do that?

Now I haz a curious. PM if you don't think it should be talked about publicly.

I know the antics of some of the Atlanta area Christian bands (my ex roomate was friends with Family Force 5, but they're the kind of band that you KNOW is Christian in name only). So I won't be shocked, I promise :)
I'd be shocked however if any of the Passion people did stuff like that (Chris Tomlin, Christy Knockels, Matt Redman), or Reuben Morgan from Hillsong. These are the people I do look up to.

Matt Redman

Ok, it's only a guilty pleasure 'cos I'm an atheist these days but I do very occasionally listen to Vineyard music including Mr Redman

That is possibly the most cringeworthy thing I will ever admit to liking.

Funny story involving both the dear Mr Cooper and religion.

I used to know this christian guy that was really into Alice Cooper, anyhow, we're in his car one day and he's playing the album Muscle of Love when the title track comes on, and the thing is, he totally hasn't realised what the song is about, which is so totally obvious when you listen to the lyrics.

So me being me, I couldn't leave the poor man in ignorance and just had to tell him it's about masturbation.

That might have killed it a bit for him.
