My poor kitteh died tonight. Her name was Fairuza and she was about 10 1/2 years old. She was super sweet and cuddly because her mother was killed when she was about 2 weeks old, so her litter was bottle-fed until they were weaned; the constant handling made her love people. She had a litter herself when she was a couple years old, due to my roommate letting her outside even though I asked him not to. 5 kittens born, but one died after a week or so; he was my favorite because he was the runt and no one paid attention to him.

She'd been having breathing problems for a while, but her breathing had been pretty consistent for at least a year, so it seems really sudden.

My poor kitteh.

Thus ends her euology.

Sorry for your loss, fren.

Also, Fairuza is a kickass name for a cat. Was she named after Fairuza Balk, by chance?

Yes. I wanted an interesting name, and when she was born she was almost completely black so I took that into account. I always liked Fairuza Balk's name, and the first thing I saw her in was "The Craft", where she was all gothed-out. It just made sense, and was a cool name.

That is awesome! I first saw Fairuza in Return to Oz (which was scary to me as a kid, but horrible to me now). But yes - she rocked in The Craft (an awesome movie, at the time). Right on :)

How about a goldfish?

Sorry, couldn't resist. If you don't get it then you are missing the reference. I assure you there is no disrespect intended.

I'm not sure who that was pointed toward, but I don't think I get the reference. The only thing I can think of is that the name 'Fairuza' is an anglicized version of the Farsi word for turquoise, and she played a character named Sapphire in "Almost Famous"...so turquoise, sapphire, gold - all precious stones/metals. :confuse:

Clav is studying to become our most obscure resident. I believe he may even be studying with The Severalist.
