We impatiently await musings from your stereo pair.

I'm still dealing with the newly added member of the family... but I've started work on the studio rebuild.

Also, Fusion needs to be fixed... and DW8000 battery needs to be changed... argh...

ClavAnother wrote:Nice price. Are you sure (lol) they aren't chineese knock offs? I would buy them at that price pretty much anytime. Not my favourite mics, but they do a good job, and I wouldn't mind having a dozen of each :)

Shures are made in China now - some are still made in Mexico, but the Chinese ones are identical. They haven't been US made since the early 90s.

So would you buy a Chinese Shure or a Chinese Shure knock-off? I don't have the answer to that question... I like Sennheisers better anyway.

That's the plan. I might even send keyboard parts to amps and mic them.

I just love the sound separation you get when air is moving and stuff is going through preamps and hardware compressors.

I don't know, all my Shures are old. But I wonder... do you know what I am taking about when I say fake 57/58?

Not the same as a chineeeeese built shure I think. Unless Shure started using wadded up garbage drowned in epoxy and call it a trasformer...

Yea I do know what you are talking about.

Nowadays there's chinese stuff and there's yucky chinese stuff. It used to be mostly yucky... now there's quite a bit of good stuff coming out of there.

I've heard on the innernets that some of the fakes don't even have xformers, and that wadded up garbage in epoxy is just a little cardboard box to fool you.

Hey, I wasn't joking! It's a wadded up piece of trash! Literally!

Not even something so nice as a cardboard look-a-like..?

Old Shures are the bomb by the way.

I had like 3 SM57s and 2SM58s, all from the 80s. I'm down to one SM57 - one broke, and the other 57 and the 58s were lent to "friends" I haven't seen in years
Actually I still see this one guy that has one of my 58s and I've asked for it back, in fact. He just won't give it back to me.
But I'm not mad, did I mention I like my Sennheisers better anyway?
