I used to table dance with men.

Postby selfinflikted » Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:34 pm

I was going through old pics out of boredom at work today, and came across some old band photos (circa 2000?). This one made me laugh, it was a GREAT show, and we made a killing (relatively) that night. So, I thought I'd share. :jam:

PS Don't laugh at my JNCOs.

 "Judge none, choose one."

That totally reminds me of lots of gigs in small to medium towns where the local Eagles or Mooses or Sacred Elks would hire us for Saturday night only, but we'd still make at least $1k. Those weeks were a vaca compared to our usual 5 or 6 day nightclub gigs.

In one place ( the Eagles Lodge in Lebanon, IN), the stage was four 4X8 plywood sheets set on a substrate made of cases of empty longnnecks. Surprisingly sturdy it was.

I actually preferred smaller venues in that band. It was much more fun because you could interact with the audience easier/more. Once I went wireless, I basically stayed in the audience. Even as the "lowly bass player" they always enjoyed when I did that.

I had a pair of pants like that in the late 90s, I'm afraid to say. Maybe two pairs.

Hey, you're cooler than I thought. A bass player, with a 5-string nonetheless. :like:

Yea, I don't know what happened with the link. I will try to fix it.

ETA: I win.

Also, yes. I thought all basses were 5-string?

Full disclosure: The band was "Mars Hill" and we played almost exclusively 90's era type grunge. Covers, originals. Twas fun!

Don't feel bad, Puppy. Be glad I didn't post the pics of me in my shiny vinyl pants. My coolness would then perhaps surpass even Oprah's.

but I do miss the 90s and it's activism / friendliness. beats the pants off the modern "lets do everything to provoke a fight and then say it's a form of oppression" re-activism from today

gothapottamouses included.

Can't see dropbox pix @ werk, but googlebot thinks your band is visually similar to a grunge band toasting marshmallows, Виктор Амазаспович, the weird little psychic lady from Poltergeist, the B52s, Larry Fink, the swearing in ceremony of Phim tài liệu, the control room of a nuke plant, a pair of princeses, the swearing in ceremony of Lyndon Baines Johnson and Ladybird, some sort of civil rights march, teh Ray Bradbury, РОССИЙСКО-ГЕРМАНСКИЕ, and the Von Crapp Family Singers of Ristobogle.
