Must be like how they are trying to convince us that the film 'Seventeen Going On Nowhere' never happened.

I was trying to presuade a few friends to see it with me at the cinema but no-one was really up for it and now it's finished it's short run.

I saw about a third of it. I found the really bad makeup so distracting that I couldn't watch it.

I didnt like the way they were marketing as nearly "the greatest story ever told". That was nearly over the top and its usually done to cover up a movies stink.

I just learned that Tim Burton directed Pee Wee's Big Adventure. If I said I liked that movie, would I be scorned?

I also just learned that cntl-X = 'cut'. For 20 years now, I've known cntl-C & cntl-V, but not X. Just think of all the time I've wasted with mouse cutting.

I dont' really have any complaints about tim burton pre "nightmare before christmas". quite the contrary I've enjoyed everything he had done up to then. and I don't really blame him for anything after that either except for just going after the easy money. What i really blame are his fan base that are stuck in loop and who only want see the same thing, just recycled over and over that enable him to rest on his laurels and shoot fish in a barrel full of money. And trust me, his fans are the kings and queens of taking something and making it "goth". Roller derby, burlesque, country and western..

The highest rated Burton films in IMDB are Ed Wood, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Edward Scissorhands (which to me is right on the money), all with 8. 2003's Big Fish also gets an 8... that's a newer one I haven't seen, doesn't seem as "typical Burton", hmm....

I think it's fair to say that you are safe with any Burton from say Ed Wood on back. Some are real good and some are just decent but none are stinkers. Post Ed Wood, Tim Burton's been real uneven so I haven't kept up with him as much.

I didn't like big fish. It seemed on one hand to cater to the betty and joon preteen schmaltzyness and then on the other, it was trying to pull off mixing that with with the feel of mystery in something like total recall. I could see how some teen in a highschool drama class would ooze over it, but for a adults, it just feels like there's this big hole in that it just right at the edge of your vision. you can't see it, but you know it's there. and you just feel like something was missing from it.

I would like to respectfully ask everyone to respond to this question:

What did you think of "Eraserhead"?

Anyone else stoked about the new Evil Dead film? I would literally punch babies if they got in my way on opening night.

Yes. It is a remake. NAO, BEFORE YOU JUDGE.. go look at the redstripe trailers. OMG looks so good. PRODUCED by Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi. Looks. So. Disgustingly. Good.

Plus, it has that chick from Suburgatory in the lead, and I like her.

maybe i did hear of it.

I dont know why he wants to remake it though... could be good could be bad, but I think things at least from the fans perspective, are often fine the way they are in spite of the director wanting to redo it with the resources he has now in stead of then.
