happy New Years PC !!1 et al

I didn't make as many beats as 2012 this is partially because of changing my job. still I started rapping and have improved my production skills significantly. for 2014 I'd like to put more pro techniques into my music. I've read & studied a lot but somehow this knowledge doesn't seem to be as leveraged as it could IMHO

I'm also working much more closely with my crew (deafwish) and am gonna try in 2014 to take collaborations to a much more integrated level. we started with sending mp3 loops back & forth, then stems, etc. I'm gonna get the 100gb package from drop box (aka swaggy's cloud) and I'm slowly publishing cross-platform lists of plug-ins so we can send reaper projects back & forth

I've always believed good things can come from an individuals efforts but greatness takes a team. so we're now in the process of delegating task to whoever is the most exceptional at them and trying to focus more on our strengths (ex: I can photoshop an album cover that might be a 7-8 out of 10 but my friend is a consistent 9 or even 10 out of 10)

well I'm gonna head into playa del carmen and watch armin van buuren at winter beach. happy New Years from Mexico !1

It can be teh morning after.

Not back to work until next Monday, so gonna clean myself up after recent excesses, get back into a routine of being up early, maybe start a new track... and if I'm doing well, want to cycle up to Saltaire again, haven't done that run for a year or two, and usually when I'm working I'm too pooped for a 28 mile round trip.

Weather is still surprisingly mild, which I'm also not complaining about.

I went to see the fireworks with my family (and parents, and sister & familyl visiting from Nashville), then went home, had a fight with the wife and went to bed.

Thanks!

This year i'm gonna try and mellow a bit. Work on music and get back to artsy fartsy stuff. I spent most of last year trying to get our family into doing out doorsy non electronic type stuff and I think i was successful, but I tend to find that I need a "womb" of creativity or something to feel normal.. Kind of like I just need to spend some time with myself every now and then.

I don't know if that comes with the creative territory or what..

But yes, happy new year!

that guy looks like one of the maintenance guys we had here. Nice guy and then bam. disappeared. Maybe that's where he got to.

his names horny. he's not a maintenance guy  he's a derrick hand, he clears $160 000 per year easy

(a maintenance guy could never be a derrick hand without years of ball busting labor and training, the rig would freeze up, we'd have huge environmental disasters and he would prolly get seriously injured lol)

also I get very defensive about my crew !

sadly he has a washed valve in his heart so he's taking a leave of absence at the moment

Buuuuuuurp...

I had 4 days of turkey... and I could have more. I roasted the perfect turkey, if I may say to myself.

Greg - sounds like a good time was had, and the turkey didn't remain uncooked!

That is awesome, fren! How do you do your leftovers? Turkey sammich? Or just turkey as usual?

Mostly turkey sammiches. And on Sunday my wife made a turkey lasagna with red sauce. It was teh delicious.

And I seasoned it with nothing but black pepper and salt. Getting it under the skin, of course. And 2/3 of the time it was wrapped in aluminum foil (at +25 degrees to compensate) to retain extra moisture.

The best thing was, since we didn't do Thanksgiving at our house and didn't do cook that day, I went out and got me a fresh turkey that weighted 24lbs for 14 dollars the next day, so I only did it on Friday. Cheapest awesome food ever.
