none taken :thu: If it's in june, I can't go anyway as I'm flying to NY without my family for my grandfathers 90th birthday.

However, here sulibebhahan? has effort well underway to entice diametro into a meetup. I'd hold off booking a flight on that one though

Yes I needs to go.

august through october tend to be the worse months here. June is actually nice. Low humidty, highs in the 90s. perfect summer weather. when the humidity starts going up in late july, the bugs start coming out and then you're dealing with round the clock humidity of 80% until early November. August through October tend to be the bad summer months. It is true when they say it's not the heat it's the humidity..

I'm hip. But my nordic blood begins to boil around 85F. I'm happiest when it's 50 to 85. I'd much rather have 40 than 90.

Maybe the weather was a fluke the one time I visited Fl in June, but I was miserable with the baking and the sweating. The only reason I came at such an infernal time was to fish for dolphin (mahi-mahi, not Flipper). A friend of the family had a house and boat on Key Largo. I'd tried it twice before in winter, but then you usually catch only smaller ones. Of course that can still mean 20 lbs, which is a big fish to an Indiana boy. When you're rigged for dolphin, it's also possible to hook a big billfish like a marlin. I didn't catch a damn thing that week, but it's still fun messing about in boats.

 If...you...please: Tf = (9/5)*Tc+32. So 35 * 1.8 + 32 = 95

The correct temperature is: 95°f!

(grumble might as well be talking to a bloody Kelvinist!)

I'll trade with anyone. It's been in the 40s for a handful of days, so almost all the snow melted. But today it pissed a half inch of new ice on everything.

Sh-sh-sheesh.

I do think genetics plays a part in it. I sweat like an absolute bastard down here as does my dad. Obviously the technology of moving about has outpaced evolution you really do run into problems like that when you migrate across the world.

I'm more happier too with a low of 50 and hi of 80. That's what I loved about summers in NY. Cold and raining most of the time, 50 over night and 75 on nice days ahhhh

What say you, ClavaNorther, to Garrison Keillor's claim that cold winters build moral character?

He wasn't 10 years ago. But I've had nothing to do with him since his 'movie'. What a turd that was.
