Needs the youtube link.

An analog 12-voice Beheringer that sounds better than the competition (IMHO) and even has wood sides. Now I've seen it all.

I've heard rumors of it being 500 euros so maybe what, 599 in the US??

That would be a bargain, eh?

But, wut's up with the name? Why not call it the Milliard Gargantusynth? Or the Googleplex Starsounder? No wait; The Great Hyperlobic Omni-Cognate Sonic Wrangler!

Mr behringer on GS said they have not released pricing information to any websites / media outlets and then he went onto tout how high quality and sophisticated the synth is. So .. .. the price may well be 1500+ :idk:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Behringer not usually associated with "high quality" or "expensive"?

and suddenly everyone is also singing the praises of a company who makes their living off of cloning other's designs, to the point that original logs have been found on circuit boards. So... :snax:

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

my friend was doing live sound on a midas/behri x32 desk. it was fairly nice except for kinda noisey flying faders. the app was cool you could adjust the mix from you're phone anywhere in the venue. the software effects (la2a, 1176, pultec, etc) were pretty decent

the whole mic pre - ad - software/mix - da signal path was pretty clean and transparent thanks in part to the same Midas team as the deep mind.

I feel kinda good about this !

happy friday

Made a living, actually.

Now they just buy up IP and make it cheaply in China.

The past copycat BS does leave a bit of a sore taste in my mouth, yah.

On the other hand, the X32 digital mixer has done them well and is based off of IP they bought (MIdas). It's also been better in quality than their previous throwaway electronics.

Amazona.de had a look. It's also being done by the Midas guys. So think Juno 106, then expand it into something like a JX-10, then add all the modern touches. 12 voices, mod matrix, 2 LFOs, 3 envs, lots of effects, AT/Vel, much faster update speed.

Worth a look, perhaps. Even with that bad company name.

It's actually a Midas product licensed to Behringer so it can be cheaply made in Chinese factories.

I've had to use Behringer products recently because my church has an X32 mixer and the Behringer monitoring system, and I'm actually pleased.

ya people said a lot of negative things about arturia's beatstep but my 2nd hand model was fully functional and the build quality was surprisingly decent :idk:

Well, you could say that Behringer is continuing in its copycat ways with its synth name, which Google's already famously used.

Well, are we worried about build quality, past moral lapses, or just being gear snobby?

My personal situational ethical compass is veering towards: "Bring the module in for <$1200, and ALL IS FORGIVEN!

It's gotta have some VLSI. Just too much going on in a small space to be otherwise. I mean, DCOs, rite? Those are sure to be enchipulated.

But I haven't watched all the vids, so maybe that's not what they mean?

Yay HPF!

But, what's the 'MOD' button in the ENVELOPES FOR?

Where is SUB OSC?

Multitimbral? Split?

& I hope you can pick your own polychord, not just select from preset choices.

&& just for the record, I'm ok with a DCO polysynth as long as it has MOAR THAN ONE OSC PER VOICE.
