Apparently slow, evolving ambient pads is one of the things it does really well... do you know someone who might like that, Metro?

No I don't.. but I bet they were thinking a mother 32 @ 600$ might not be that bad to start off with. But this @ only 400$ more may be all that they need, since it's like loaded with everything you'd want and it's polyphonic..

I'd just assume that's what they're thinking, this hypothetical person :idk:

MOAR VIDEOS

The effects seem way better than the stuff other similarly priced synths are capable of. Great for live playing. That chorus reverb sounds particularly interesting.

So now the DeepMind 6 is coming, a more affordable version with 6 voices...

You still get all the keys, all the effects, all the slides and buttons... just a few less voice chips...

There's also a 12-voice desktop coming!

I seen it @fest. It has a three octave keyboard.

Seen it too.

I'm pretty sure they would have sold one (around $900 out the tent) rite then if they'd had any to sell. The first ones weren't to roll off the line for three or four weeks. They wouldn't sell the demo.

I have got to poast the rest of my Fest reports...

So I went to sam ash after visiting the grand opening of a new tactical store.. can I be tactical synth? Is that a thing?

I tried the deep mind.. WOAH. CR was right.. !! Pads ahoy.

The keys were absolute shit though. some were broken. i know it's a demo but damn.. I'll go with the rack thank you very much.

**edit.. yup. Just read through a bunch of reviews.. everybody complains about the keys and how bad they are. Misaligned, latency etc.

That's disappointing to hear... I mean, it's Behringer, but I thought they were trying to improve quality... ?../

Yeah no clue.. They honestly felt like a toy. Super thin, cheap, latency was there too, this was the 12. Of its over MIDI too.. Sheesh.. O-O they'd have to put out an OS update to take care of it. I haven't heard of any via midi issues though.

That sucks :( I was liking the sound of this one too.

Way to totally bugger up a great synth.

The rack costs more than the 12 for some reason.. any reason why? other than a different chassis.. usually the rack version of something is a cost effective way to ditch the keys.

At Sweetwater, the rack is 899 and the keyboard version is 999....

I'm just going from the google pop up prices. Maybe that's for reboxed, demos or something. Seemed a little nutty IMO.

quality control is likely the biggest reservation people have with the dm. hopefully the problem isn’t wide spread...

Maybe some of them were referencing the Deepmind 6, which indeed is cheaper than the 12 voice box.

The keys on the first one I played @ Sweetfest felt fine. Super fast, actually. But, I had phones on the whole time. I tried a different one and it felt completely different, sort of mushy. I noodled the first one again without the phones and it clattered like a typewriter. Turns out they forgot to put the felt strip under the keys on the first one off the pilot run. But allensie knobbensliders und pokenswitchens felt okeedoken to me. So yeah, the module is the correct choice.

Did I mention how neato the tablet GUI thingy is?

I knew a high quality Behringer synth with wooden sides was too good to be true
