Just got off the phone with my contact at Sweetwater. He knows all the details but is under a non-disclosure agreement. He basically said that he'll be able to call me back next week with all the details and preorder information after the board is officially unveiled at Musikmesse next week on the 15th.

I have such an excite over this board. I may just poop.

There's a lot of speculation here.. as there was with the JDXI but you can have a look.

The JD-XA, the Prophet 6, all with 49 keys. I really wish they still made proper 61 keyboards. :oldmansigh:

Still intrigued by this JD-XA tho...

Mini keys and low-octave keyboards totally don't bother me. I have enough controllers I can use instead of the keys that come onboard.

(see wut I did?)

So, this is the first "proper" demo of JUST the analog presets on this board that I have seen. I'm actually a bit impressed. This actually sounds great for sub $500. Plus it does have all the digital stuffs/crossover stuffs and a few decent drum kits. Perhaps I was hasty with my original judgements about this board?

Does this not sound like butter to you guys?

I just wish these synth companies would STOP IT ALREADY WITH THE #(&$#@^$(*@#^$(&#^)&^_*&_%#+_$)@ MINI KEYS

Hmmmm I'm loving that analog Roland sound.

It's different from the 80s Roland sound, for sure. But it's a good sound. I know some people will be yelling and screaming that it doesn't sound *exactly* like their SH-101 with dried up capacitors, but that's the internet for you.

Of course I wish it had envelope knobs. But, for 500 bucks, it's brilliant. Better than I expected.

There is no reason why one would not be able to build a radio-ready track with the JD-XI + new Korg Electribe.

I don't mind baby keys for synth sounds... but I r not supr-srs.

For piano type sounds, yeah, an 88 keybed is needed, at least semi-weighted.

The Xi indeed has passable piano (PCM?) patches. Weird that it would, but it does. They don't sound like a Kurz or anything, but they are passable I suppose.

And I'm with you, Clav. $*%& mini keys. That said, I have several controllers...

See, you don't like them, but you end up living with them.
