Roland FA-06

I actually have a good case of GAS starting for this. I have to say that I haven't connected to Maschine the way I thought I would. But I might have to spend an hour or two in a store playing the Roland's sequencer to see if I get along with it.
But the 16 pads, the 24-parameter matrix for modifying the sounds, and the sequencer seems to have inherited the groovebox kind of feel... plus Integra 7 sounds... the VA engine... audio tracks... the piano sounds fantastic... and of course D-Beam, mang

It's almost like a Fusion with a better sequencer, I think. In fact, with audio tracks, this does what Maschine doesn't which frustrates me a lot - act as an actual sequencer instead of just a 90s groovebox. ./rant

The used prices on the Kronos never went down in over 2 years, so getting this used at 800-900 price range might be a good option...

Yea I would have no qualms whatsoever with buying it!

As much as I tend to think that the motifs are higher in quality, I find for some reason I jam much much better with the Roland boards.
