Just so SI (and other new guys) know what we're talking about - this person is a bit... weird to say the least...

The type that you'd be a bit worried if you knew they had your address...

Well. Are you familiar with Diametro? That kind of answers that question :)

I think it's spelled Diametron and I certainly do not want knowing where I live.

well today I decided to get a pair of yamaha hs-8 monitors

they're really similar to the hs-80ms I had before and after 5 mins of demoing various options on teh 'speaker wall' it was over

now I must move around my studio to have proper monitor placement, my current broken-sounding boo box is right in the corner

this does sorta unintentionally follow my 2014 New Years resolution of putting my knowledge and advice I give to people into my own studio

however, feel free to do as I say and not as I do   :cop: lol

Congrats! Did they have MSP7s? Were you able to compare them to the HS8? Just curious as to why you went with them.

Speaking of monitors. I'm seriously considering this. I like 3-way monitors - I think a cheap 3-way is better than an average 2-way.

That's the price that's on the catalog so I know it's gonna be good for a few more weeks, or until they run out.

ya i don't know much about monitors. depending on the set up it can be really revealing or really not i'm not sure how much it has to do with the actual speakers or placement or room

they didn't have the msp7s there just the msp5s, and they're too small to do what i need. i've even been considering picking up the yamaha sub to go with the hs8s.

three way speakers are clearly better because they have more speakers :jam:

(i think they're harder to design tho :confuse: )
