Something big from Arturia.

Postby christianrock » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:29 pm

So, I got an e-mail from Arturia, saying they have something big that they will release on Oct 25. Of course, the e-mail has blurred out picture of a knobby synth... so of course, we'll have us a new analog poly, hopefully very affordable :)

I haven't visited GS in ages but I bet that place must be going bananas. Because it's not a Roland, of course.

I would like an analogue knobby synth. But I don't know which to have GAS over. Perhaps this will be the one?

ETA: Speaking of getting stuff in the (e)mail, did anyone else get the new Sweetwater mag for the quarter? My god that thing is robust this time around.

Yar, I get that sweetwater monster mag every now and then. It's best for all concerned if I just toss it out immediately. Lol

Sweetwater mag: Summer & Winter. I keep it by the throne. Good place for gassing, I guess?

Arturia: If it's a BiggerBrute, I hope for moar than one VCO.

Yeah, they have a teaser page.

Key features: small and no presets. "Vintage sound, modern connectivity". It does look like a knobby keyboard in the photos. A blurry back photo however makes it look rather tiny. Doubt it's a poly (unless it's a virtual with no presets, which would be weird :p )

Looks like a MicroBrute. MiniBrute with mini keys like the KeyLab. Speculation of course.

So, I was wrong. Bummer. I think small and cheap is the word. Or the two words.

Hm. Doesn't sound bad for $300.

But no arp, and only a step sequencer that can't be edited once saved? No noise generator? Arps and noise are like, staples. Why leave those off?

I can't listen to any demos. How does it sound?

And also, why mini keys? Gah.

I think I saw in a video with the product manager and one of the engineers behind it that it has a software editor that allows you to integrate with DAWs and transfer the step sequence contents back and forth.
