I didn't know Stephen Fry was Jeeves

I asked because even though the specs say something, sometimes in real life the difference just isn't that noticeable. But if you don't have experience with both of them to make a comparison, that's ok, I just thought I'd ask :) But I guess the numbers are impressive enough that I shouldn't consider DDR2 at all.

So the guy doesn't even have installation disks for Lion which he says is installed in the machine. Sounds like a stolen computer, honestly

yea but they say, you're computer only runs either DDR2 or DDR3. you gotta go with what ever the mother board accepts.

I think my virus was stolen, did I tell you that?

Noooooooo.

Well the CDC shut down the bird flu program so .... not exactly

but really, no, same one.

I had asked a few questions about it and the guy running the auction just hit me with a huge sob story about how GC wouldn't give him anything for it and this that and the other, how much would I offer etc. He needs to get it sold..

I dunno, sounded kinda funny after the fact. But the guy could have needed money and was worried the auction would tank for less than he wanted too .. :idk: he seemed in a hurry which is what made me suspicious. I was nervous as hell until i got the synth though.

Then I'd be obsessing over tools in a different trade and still not get anything done? Is that what you want?

So, if you pick woodwork, can I have your synths? I'll get you a shipment of timber for it...

AHHHH COLD FEET

What if I sold basses and guitar and keep recording equipment and invest what I already got in a DR-880 + MC909 + analog monosynth?

Someday (ahhhh someday) I'll be finished with these house projects, we'll sell, find a new place with a Most Excellent Studio Room, and then i can have all my toys spread around again.

Tenterhooks. I haz them.

No really, when you're making such radical changes, it can't hurt to bounce it off other people who share the interest.

Like, I couldn't ask my wife "Hey, for my Leslie 770 project, do you think I should get a stock crossover and use the tube amp from my 225 cabinet, or breadboard a bi-amp crossover and use the two solid state amps that already came with the 710?" She'd say "gtfo".

"And take the trash".

So, my Fusion has been gone for a day, and I've now found an 8HD (88 keys) that I might get for 500 bucks locally.
I can get that and sell my A-90 controller for 400 and I'll have a Fusion controller for a 100 bucks investment, which is what I got back in the Maschine deal.

I'm thinking about dropping the idea of buying monitors, and going with a set of AKG-K702 headphones instead (or something similar in quality, if not better) for a couple of reasons:
. I'd have to buy a decent sub for the monitors and that would just add to the cost (or I could get bigger monitors)
. My room's untreated. And since it's long and narrow I don't know how easily I can fix this without spending more money than I should.

Am I crazy?

I don't think you're crazy. I do nearly all my stuff through headphones, a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770. They're quite comfy and I haven't noticed any hearing fatigue.
