Kumquats, tater tots, barely and rye,
egg salad's invalid; doesn't apply.

Who cares what games we choose?
Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Did you dream this?

Like most of Heinlein's best work, 'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress' is best enjoyed when you're twelve. But, some people don't grok. And that's OK.

Silverberg's great! I recall 'Dying Inside', 'Up the Line' and 'Hawksbill Station', and I've certain I've read others.

i guess i don't grok. i am one of those people who can appreciate all of his stuff in one way or another. maybe you expectations are too high??

one thing i like to keep in mind is that just like when listening to someone's music, we are not always ready for it at any given time. there are many factors that affect the way we will perceive it emotionally every time we are exposed to it. for instance - i really don't think i would enjoy listening to my favourite song right now...i think i am just not there at the moment. doesn't take away from the song, just not there right now.

of course, none of this really matters any way so...off to bed.

In the world before Monkey Primal chaos reigned,
Heaven sought order, but the Phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown.
The four worlds formed again and yet again,
As endless aeons wheeled and passed.
Time and the pure essences of Heaven,
The moistures of the Earth,
And the powers of the Sun and the Moon
All worked upon a certain rock - old as Creation,
And it became magically fertile.
That first egg was named Thought,
Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, Said
'With our thoughts we make the world'
Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch,
from it then came a Stone Monkey.
The nature of Monkey was irrepressable!
