lol well i have been working on it for a while, but this was a good day to finish it up more or less.

it's the first track in a looong time i've seriously sat down and put some time into composing, rather than throwing notes at the screen, and also one of the few times i've seriously listened to another track and tried to emulate it, the opening/bridge/end is based on some traditional japanese koto/shakuhachi music.

I agree with clav. What a unique joy to hear :0 What do you use predominately for all your tracks?

No joshing it's mine. it's some patches I wrote in Largo and a bunch of over dubs and clips in Live.

it came out a bit dense and muddy :( but I played the whole thing straight through so I think that counts as a "jam" :).

Ah, well that was quite a powerful, dancey track!

Usually i'll use the Doepfer for the mono and the odd duophonic parts and the memotron and jupiter for the poly, though this one really gave me a lot of trouble getting everything to gel, and i ended up bringing in the XT for some bits to get it all to sit together.

This started out looking like a really good idea:

The mask was a £4 fortuatous charity shop find, only it steamed up after the first 10 seconds and it all went downhill from there. Also i've kind of found that aside from filter sweeps with not much resonance and crossmod sounds, the synth engine on the AX synth kind of sucks.

You know I actually wanted to get one of those and a lucina. that looks more the part

speaking of, is that one discontinued? or does roland have both on the market ?

aw come you didn't use the speech thingy?

i can't believe those are in the charity shops already. you totally stole my idea :D

I think the modulator widget in the helmet may be broken or need a battery or something, or that could be why it was only £4, the huge student population here has cleared out in the last month, so i got myself a new bad and a desk as well :thu:

The had an AX in PMT when i went through yesterday, so i guess you can still get them. Really i need to mess with it more as a controller, which is what i got it for, somehow it seems a shame to have a synth engine i don;t use, but then it would have been better if they'd taken that bit out and just made it a MIDI controller :idk:

I can't remember the last time i actually sat down and powered up all my kit at the same time, and my limited ability starts to nosedive the more keyboards i try and play at once, but hopefully this tune is recognisable?

Ok it's bad but it's not ~that~ bad.

Bit of a clue, crazy black guy singing about a crazy white guy, and that is definitely not a veilled MJ reference!
