I love the D-550 as well, I had a bunch of custom sounds (not mine) in it and it really rocked. Couldn't really use it much in my recordings as one of the outputs was busted and for some reason, recording it in mono without effects, didn't sound right. With Roland, the effects really go hand in hand with the synth...

Oh I found another cymbal in the cymbal bag! Joy joy! But that one's probably only worth 50 bucks or so.

Congrats on being pregnant. Yeah, Italian and preggy don't do well together.
I'm about to head out and pick up a pizza.

Actually Italian is one of the few things she's eating these days.
Since her pregnancy, she can't eat Chinese food anymore, it makes her sick. And I love Chinese buffets  but it's probably best for my health that we've been staying off those

Pizza you say?

Where are you btw?

Hey I just found this mix of a rather strange tune that I seem to forget about most of the time from the 8-Track era. There are lyrics to it, and they are rather odd as well...but this mix doesn't appear to have them.

Anyway, for your enjoyment this is Sparks

Here is one of the tracks that I am producing for a band that came into my studio in May. There were no vocal harmonies done in the tracking, I created them all in post. It is nearly finished, but I still need to fix some of the artifacts on the vocals and uncompress the drums a bit. S&TG wants me to double the bass with my Clavinet; I think I will.

How does it sound to you?

P.S. Hey Puppy! why you no say nice things about Sparks? :idk:

thanks, I had a ton of fun doing the vocals. They were all made from unison tracks that were first takes.

Oh, nao I see what you mean when you say "created" them. I though you just sang backup. Some auto-tune thingy on the lead vocal track?

well manual-tune actually. I just made up the harmony note by note without any pre-planning and I thought it was cool. When I listen to it in the studio I don't hear any artifacts, but I am hearing the hell out of them now in my library (semi-decent powered computer speakers). I will probably fix it next week.

I'm still trying to figure out what this Jam with Tapes (TM) is all about.

Sort of it's what one can knock off in one sitting thrown together? Or does it have to include actual tapes?

Much can be learned here: Advice

The basic gist is threefold:
1) long ago we used to learn to play our instruments by tuning up to tapes

2) posting cool stuff in here is nice for people like EP to be able to run your track whilst playing synth leads over it for minutes upon minutes of fun.

3) it's a way cooler name for a thread than "Let's hear it!!!! Post your music here..."

Have fun ;>)

I .... went into the zone once.

It's not something I like to talk about.

It's just like, man, how do you relate the zone, to people that have never been there man?

I wrote this one song, so deep in the zone man, when I came back this talking dog was like, man you're scaring the women and children with that man, we don't want that here. And I said no way man .. whatevas.

then he licked his own privates.
