But they also give you the option to outright buy.

The software.. ? I thought that was the point of the software.. you just rent it. Some of the plugout stuff is buy. Unless they came out with an option I don't know of. But of course too you can buy the hardware and then "own" that.. is that what you meant?

Yea, I meant the plugout stuff. You can "rent" the plugouts through your subscription as I understand it, or outright buy.

What you see in those pictures takes up about a quarter of the studio. There is even moar fun to be had at the other stations.

I was playing with the CS50 and the organ this weekend and I have to say - I knew it was going to be cool when I designed the system, but with all the organ mods in place and the synths running through it, I am really blown away by how cool it is. I guess I didn't realize just what it all was going to be like.

Coming soon: insert the MS-20 into the organs effects loop..mwaahahahaha

The Studio MKII. I'd like to update this soon, but here is a documentary I made in 2004 after the battle of the elements.

So while the memotron is out of commission, I've fished out that M-audio controller that I found in a charity shop for £20 a while back connected to the Ay3, which really has been underutilised.

Maybe it was the light in the shop, and maybe it doesn't show too well in the pic, but when it's next to another keyboard you can otally see that the keys are nicotine yellow... seriously, whoever had that before must have smoked like heck in their studio.

Also the thing that I'd thought might be a ribbon conroller is where a slider has been broken off

Eh. Some types of plastic yellow over time like that on their own, sans smoke.

According to the Interwebz, typically yellowing is caused by UV light reacting with the brominated flame retardants often used on plastic to prevent them from going boom. So it could be nothing more than the previous owner left their keyboard outside a lot or something.

But yeah, if it's smoke tar, you will KNOW it. Yuck.

yeah out side by the dumpster where the current owner found it in mint condition

I think any light will do it. You're a computer dude, dude.. how many beige PCs have you seen turn yellow, that were in windowless offices back in the day? I always thought that was gross.. lol.

My SNES turned yellow on me as a kid, and that was before I started smoking. I NEVER smoke in my studio, except the Jazz Cabbage™ on occasion. That never seemed to do any damage to anything in there, and certainly never turned anything yellow. Cigarettes are banned in the studio (and my house in general). I never smoke cigs inside. Sometimes though, if I'm solo'ing particularly hard on the keys, they occasionally start to smoke. I'm just saying.
