hardest part was getting in as there's a gazillion screws on the underside and it's not clear which are holding the casing together

Usually it's the screws that have washers. They often indicate the ones to remove for opening.

I find your excuses very dissatisfying.

I don't want to have to cheat on your with another vocalist, but I will.

I will!

I was afraid no one would get it.

But then I remembered the company I'm in. :)

Well I just pulled the trigger on this:

The Twisted Electrons AY-3 is going on Ebay... do not know what the issue with it is and I'm not finding emailing the designer very helpful, have wasted enough time already getting frustrated trying to make it work when I could have been playing.

OP-1 is more expensive but I expect will be reliable, also a lot more versatile. Not a fan of the mini-keybed but if I like it, I'll pick up a MIDI keyboard for it.

Totally weird story for you guys btw before i forget.

After I opened up the Memotron to clean the keybed a while back, I had this weird thing going on with the pitch drifting. Noticed a few days later it was a bit flat, so just adjusted the pitch knob. Then over the next month or two, the pitch kept creeping down and i kept turning the pitch knob a bit higher to compensate. After a while I started to get worried that eventually the pitch would sink further than the pitch knob would correct for, meaning opening it up again and dicking with trimposts, or taking it to my repair guy.

Anyhow, a few days back, I go to play, it's out of tune again, the knob won't go any higher and I'm like 'oh shit'... and then I play around a bit and find out... it's perfectly back in tune!

Absolutely no idea what was going on there!

Btw, in the event that you have to open it again (or anything else for that matter), did you see my post about screw with washers being the ones to remove?

Yeah, I saw that.

The thing that caught me out was that the screws are actually 3 different lengths depending on where they go, if I'd known in advance I'd have marked up what went where, it's tricky as hell to get them all back in the right place.

ooo, our first OP-1 user! It looks like it's a big (little?) ball of fun, based on videos I've seen on youtube from a guy that goes by moniker "Red Means Recording".

I'm a gonna try something. I just had a productive weekend of completely dismantling my studio and re-mantling it when I was done. So I need to post this if for no other reason than to prove to myself that I do clean up once in a blue moon. Now let's see if this picture posting thingie workie.
