The only thing remotely noteworthy would be the modified desk. I added a shelf with an extra 16 units of rack space above the monitors, with said monitors residing on the main level where they should have been in the first place. I also added a shelf right below the main level for a controller. I find that to be the right height for keyboarding.

I'd have to confess that i'd never thought of using a keyboard stand for mixers or even mini rack thingys, but i'm thinking about it now just to free up desk space.

Nothing much that new in my setup, and tbh i'm still trying to find the time/motivation and a definate plan for rejigging my kit 'cos some of the workflow is pissing me off. I might post some pics later if i get a minute.

This.

This, this, this, this. I'm STILL not happy with my arrangement. I gott figure out how I can put a master keyboad, the MPC and my PC all within happy reaching distance and still be able to see the PC screen clearly.

Arrg.

that's why i ditched it all! ahahahahah between as much time as I actually put into using it compared to how often kids, cats, fire or famine ripped it apart, it wasn't worth having to rewire and figure everything out over and over.

So are you totally ITB now, Metro? I have to admit, the lack of clutter is appealing to me.

for summer anyway.. the lack of clutter IS enjoyable. It's sort of a hard feeling to describe, but I like the feeling of having a home office that I would use in many ways everyday, as opposed to a dedicated studio that I would only use as time allows.

I have this combo here and I keep my O2, audio interface, headphones, launchpad, nanokontrol etc in the cubes under the desk.

Image

My time to clutter ratio makes being ITB productive and fun. However i do enjoy the odd knob tweak (tee hee) which is why I also want to keep a smallish synth / Live PA deal to run into Live.

Heresy!!

I'm glad this guy never complained that he had to get his butt off the chair for a second to tweak some knobs that weren't immediately in front of him...

He did get a couple songs done back in his day.

I 'think' of stuff like that 'cause I'm cheap. My motto is "How can I do this with crap I already have lying around?"
