An incomplete performance that was incredibly fun to make, but riddled with technical failures. I still like it though.

Finally got some time with the modular, first tryout of Future Sound Systems TG3 Gristleizer.

Cool PC. So I haven’t seen your system in a while and that was before I got into modular. Now I see that your synth is I guess primarily Doepfer. Is that a SEM filter down there? I love that filter.

Do you have this thing modeled in Modular Grid? I’m just generally curious what you have going on in there. It’s a pretty substantial rig.

I've been building it up over about the last 10 years, there's 3 x Doepfer 12u cases there which aren't quite full plus the analogue systems sequencer on the top.

I have an empty 3u sat around for if/when I need it.

SEM filter is nice and I think one of the punchiest, also have 2 x Moog clones, Wasp, Doepfer's own multimode and their vactrol multimode... my favourite for warmth though a bitch to pin down in that sweet spot.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Nice sense of drive to it - if a little repotatotive... or was that the point to banging the beat?

Hey purity!

It's a different approach this time. I want to get into live performances. so what I'm trying to do is create a bunch of "parts" that I can Dj together. This is just one set and that's why it feels repetitive. I want to use movie samples and other things, but I'd probably get my wrist slapped online, so I kept them out of it for now too.

So the goal being to make a bunch of song parts and then play them live together :) There's some dude here in Tampa whose trying to get other dudes together live and to get a synth / electronic scene going here again. I think he's performing on the 10th, so I'm going to see him and talk to him. :thu:

Happy boxing day!! I hope you win.

New ambient drone from the drone meister.. and before you ask, no field recordings were used. So no AC units were harmed in the production of this track. :cop:

Three years since the last music release, five songs, 18 minutes long. PRODUCTIVITY!

So it's kinda the standard stuff I do of late -- music that is soundtrack-ish, sort of classical music crossover-y influenced, !!!UBER-EPIC!!! at times, schmaltzy at other times, and gray-sounding for the rest (hence the title). Mostly slow, except for Gray 5 which is a brisk pipe organ romp. Mostly minor key, which fits these "stormy" times I think.

The main difference between this and previous releases:
A) A greater percentage of the work was scored in notation beforehand. I got to know the joys and pains of Finale Printmusic. Yay.
B) Many of the songs (all but Gray 2 which is a little piano-and-analog-synth waltz) contain Authentic Mystical Gibberish (TM) choral parts, thanks to the oddly named FluffyAudio Dominus Kontakt sample library.

I kind of like the embedded player which has all the tracks in it listed, so if you want to see that, go here.

And here's a *BIG* version of the album cover if you care to look. Album art is easier when you are a hobbyist photographer too. :)

Chris' drone is heavenly :) And soundwave's tracks are, well, epically grey. I'm not at macdonald's but i'm loving it :yes that's an angrybaby call:

soundwave - the use of synths and choirs is pretty neat, what do you use for choirs, Omnisphere 2?

FluffyAudio Dominus -- it's a choir sample pack for Kontakt that is designed for word-building. I did enhance a couple parts with some of the boys choir samples in Omnisphere as well.

That Dominus stuff better be good considering the price  and it seems very good indeed.

Still listening to your songs, soundwave :) I think Gray 4 is my favorite. Should not be surprising since I love the Vangelis kinda stuff but this has some good Jarre feeling thrown in as well.
